Sorry, I have nothing to go on here. Did you perhaps change some privacy settings on your Goodreads profile? If not, could you provide a screenshot of your widget settings so I can test them myself?

PS, note that some caching plugins may interfere with proper GR Progress Widget operation (I’m using it successfully with caching plugins, but you never know).

Also, you could try deactivating all other plugins on your site and see if it helps. It it works, then enable the plugins again one by one, testing after each one, and see if any other plugin interferes with GR Progress Widget.

Sorry, I have no idea why it doesn’t work. I’ve tested with your settings and everything works fine. It must be something local to your site or webhost – nothing I can do about that, sorry.

The shelf name should be “currently-reading”, since that’s what it’s called on Goodreads.

I don’t think any updates are needed, since Goodreads will redirect HTTP to HTTPS, and AFAIK the redirect will be handled fine by the plugin. But if not, the plugin will certainly be updated. ??

If your shelf name is “currently-reading” and the profile ID is “30992656”, then the only thing left I can think of is the API key. Double-check that, and if it’s correct, then I’m at a loss, sorry.

You also have an extra “9” at the end of the Goodreads user ID that shouldn’t be there according to your link.

@kannmcc Your shelf is called “currently-reading”, not “Currently reading”. Correct that and I think it should work.

Looks good to me. Can you show me a screenshot of your widget settings? (If you’re on Windows 10, the Snipping Tool is great for this.)

Can you give me the link to your Goodreads profile so I can check if it’s truly open?

That won’t be implemented, but you can probably get it working by using amr shortcode any widget or Widget Shortcode.

I found the error. The widget needs a Goodreads USER ID to work, but you supplied a Goodreads AUTHOR ID. I had no idea there was a distinction between them. In short, you need to find and enter your user ID, not your author ID.

I have released an update to the widget where one of the changes is the addition of help text to the “user ID” field in the widget configuration. Please see if you can get it working by following the instructions there, and let me know if anything is unclear.
