Meridith is more advanced with a working understanding of the .htaccess. As I understand it, you change the permalink structure and WP writes it’s own .htaccess.

I am not using the default permalink structure and have been getting notification of 404 page errors from archive requests via my page.

I have changed back to the default structure to see if I get anymore notifications. Do I need to delete the htaccess?

Or do I need to write innto the .htaccess to ‘get’ archives? I am using three custom schemes.

Also, in IE, I get this error:

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Same slow loader cllucas.com I’ve changed/deactivated several plugins and switched themes…still loads slow. I just started using wp-cache, and had to tweak some settings with that, delete cached files and do another reload. Who knows how it’ll turn out. Is the PHP.INI still an option? Because I dont automatically have one in the root.

I’m running 2.1 and recently installed it. I have no graphics and I am running a simple theme. I read about wp-cache and have that installed, followed the instructions and still have slow load times. Im considering a re-install but dont want to go there yet. One string mentioned removing “categories” from the sidebar, and this seemed to help some but the results have been intermittent.
