Load a transparent image under “Tab Image URL” or add this CSS Rule:

.dc-social-float .tab{display:none;}

Just be sure the option to load open is selected.

Be sure to mark the plugin to appear under “Display Pages for Social Share Buttons”. I forget to do this sometimes.
