As for me it seems this issue disappeared after you updated a version.
Now all works fine.

The same problem.
The system is:
Wordpress 4.4.2
Apache 2.4.10-10+deb8u3
MySQL 5.5.46-0+deb8u1
PHP 5.6.14+dfsg-0+deb8u1
Perl 5.20.2-3+deb8u1
Kernel 2.6.32-042stab113.17

I also tried to turn off all the plugins but no succsess.
All the time I see the Fetching server… on white screen.
