In reply to: Placing wordpress into another website?I am not exactly sure what you mean..
you simply want to use wordpress in a specific part of the site?
just install it in a subdirectory like /journalForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Archives LinkYou seem to have also removed the link to the wordpress homepage.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Archives LinkThe archives links on the menu simply display all the posts that fall within the date range specified
IE: posts from May, or all the posts from 2004 and so on.
So no, there is no ‘actual archives page’
If you are trying to direct someone from another page to your ‘archives’ simply use a regular link to whatever dates you want to send them to
like : pinkpistol.com/archives/2004 or whateverForum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: BLOG:CMS vs. WordPressIs that why the support forum was going so slow earlier this morning?

In reply to: Template blanked itself! Site showing up emptyHmm, it sounds like your index was deleted inadvertantly somehow. Perhaps it was moved from your root directory on the FTP server somehow?
Look around your ftp and see if you can find it.
I always keep a local backup just incase! But I have never had anything like that happenForum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: BLOG:CMS vs. WordPressReading that forum post was enough for me to not be interested.
He seems only to want praise and worship for a product he put out thinking was perfect.. and does not want anyone to point out any flaws.
Besides I am happy with what I have created and setup using WP(and I haven’t even upgraded to 1.2). I don’t feel like tossing away the hours I’ve spent on it to use some new program with an admin that doesn’t appear too helpfulForum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Three Column Downloadable Design?I made a 3 column layout on my site, using a combination of a small php menu(using arrays to populate the choices) and the amazon media manager.. I also stripped the ‘content’ out of the index.php file so I can use it for static pages
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How to? Make a static page…Matius, I’m not sure what you mean by switching the includes in or out..
I just set up a header and a footer file, and then my resume.php file looks like this:
include (‘header.php’)
include (‘resume.html’)
include (‘footer.php’)
Thats basically itForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: How to? Make a static page…Quoted:
I stripped index.php of the ‘content’ section and seperated it into header and footer files, then just use php includes for the html pages.
But did this affect the style switching?
No, all I did was remove the part of index.php which parses and displays post content. You can check it out on my site. If you change styles while on the resume page(the static page) it brings you back to the journal index, that is the only thing. But I don’t think it matters.
