In reply to: [Yoast SEO] sitemap_index.xml couldn’t be crawledI think I have found it.
It was “WP Super Cache“!!!
I now tried two times and it seems that the error comes if I
1) activate WP Super Cache
2) go in the settings (as required) and activate the Cache.I will delete the Plugin and see what happens.
Greetings and thanks really a lot for your help

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] sitemap_index.xml couldn’t be crawledHi devnhil,
thanks a lot for the quick answer.
I certainly did not create anything on the server, first because I only use WordPress and I do not know how to access or create files on the server, secondly because I did absolutely nothing on the site since at least one month (but I do have all automatic plugin updates activated).
I have noticed a strange behaviour, before I begin to disable the plugins:
this is the error message that I receive if I am logged out of the WordPress dashboard, if I try to access the page (I have a german language Safari browser)https://monosnap.com/file/bKr0aLw88lhQ4B3qKS1FadfNmJqrY9
If I log-in to my WordPress Site Dashboard, now this is what I see:
https://monosnap.com/file/yHYAC6vJuPGo30VRExp8t321J0gJAg
Does this make sense to you? it seems Yoast SEO does create the file only if I am logged in to WordPress!
I will now try to disable the plugins manually (though I can install plugins, I still prefer to try the manual way, i.e. not via Health-Check-Plugin).
Thanks a lot
Regards

In reply to: [Autoptimize] PageSpeed Insights recommendation (unused Java Script)Done, and thanks again!

In reply to: [Autoptimize] PageSpeed Insights recommendation (unused Java Script)Hi Frank, thanks a lot for the quick answer, that I am able to read fully and understand only now.
So I understand you like this: even if the name shown in the screenshot that I linked says “autoptimize_f36…js“, this does not mean that the script comes from Autoptimize. Your Plugin simply recombines and reorders the JS that already exist in the page!
In this case I believe my actual level of competence is too low to attempt anything. I will let it be, fearing to damage the site & theme functionality.
But thanks for explaining, I’ve learned something again!
Best regards

In reply to: Ryte: the language settings of this page are too specific! Thanks, I’m marking this post as resolved.
Hi Predrag ( @wpmudev-support1 )
Thanks a lot, your answer does clarify a lot.
I would say, it is exactly as you supposed, the site is new and I am almost the only visitor ?? or so it seems…
If you could be so kind to shortly elaborate on what is WP Cron… because if it is a Plugin, I do not have it. Or, most probably, it is some kind of internal WP process?
Anyway I understand I can ignore the warning, and that’s it! Since I am new to website creation and maintenance, I try to understand everything.
Thanks again
Regards

In reply to: Ryte: the language settings of this page are too specific! Thanks @website-rob ! : ok. I’ll ignore the message following your advice.
I do not find in the Theme Customize Settings or in Theme Options anything related to choosing the meta tag for language (of course there is the language setting in the WordPress General Settings), but never mind.
And yes, there are italian speaking people in Switzerland, that’s exactly my point. I think I found a Plugin that could do the trick (namely writing only “lang=it”, but I do not trust it, because it is old and not up to date.

In reply to: Ryte: the language settings of this page are too specific!Hi @website-rob and thanks a lot for the answer.
You are basically confirming what I have been “told”. But where can I set this? Up to now I never coded anything in the page source code, I use WordPress and a few Plugins, and the Theme Options of BeTheme.
The question may sound strange but you have to consider that I am “learning” to manage and maintain a web site that was created for me, initially, as an “empty draft”, by a professional.
Thanks a lot if you can point me to “how” to change this setting. Do I have to edit some theme files?
Best regards
ClaudioPS: I found Ryte because the Yoast SEO Plugin has a “Ryte indexability index” inside, and I was curious to know more. It is a platform where one can get free and premium accounts and let their “engine” inspect your website and give feedback about the quality, one of these feedback is the one that I have shown in my picture in the original post. Since I do wish to address both Italy and italian speakers in Switzerland (so probably it-IT and it-CH) I would like to correct the “issue”.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO (free version) and BeTheme (Muffin Builder)Hi @suascat_wp , that’s very interesting and yes, there are people like me that are in the “business” ?? since two weeks and have no idea! Newbie as I said.
It makes sense, though I wonder why a (probably) well known theme like the BeTheme family does have this input (you can see the input field here).
Well, let’s hope that the meta-tag “description” does not end being ignored too for similar reasons.
Anyway, hey, this is a really good support I have received, I have learned a lot and be very thankful, to both of you ( @suascat_wp and @devnihil ). I will mark the problem as solved now.
Best regards and thanks

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO (free version) and BeTheme (Muffin Builder)Hi, for some unknown reasons, now I looked again and the problem seems solved. The two meta description tags have disappeared and it remains only one. I cannot understand why now, and not three hours ago.
I would have one last question though, if you are so kind.
I noticed that now also the tag meta name=”keywords” is not there anymore (you can see it was there in your previously posted image, immediately under the first meta name “description”). Is that because the Yoast-SEO Plugin does not provide that? shouldn’t it be the place for the “Keyphrase” (that of course I have).
Thanks again,
Regards

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO (free version) and BeTheme (Muffin Builder)Hi @devnihil thanks a lot.
I appreciate this support you are providing, after all I only have the free version of the plugin!
Now, I do have a problem here, apparently.
I emptied the fields, and I also set the SEO option of the theme to OFF as you recommended (I wasn’t aware of it!). I did remember to press “save changes” everywhere. Then I started a private browser page (Safari), deleted the cache, and looked at the page code (thanks for the hint!). It does not seem to change at all! This I really cannot understand.Interestingly, in the page “who am I”, where I never typed those SEO-fields of the theme at all, the problem does not exist, as can be seen here.
Yoast Version: 15.9.1
WordPress Version: 5.6.2Do you have any suggestions? Maybe I’m missing something, I am really a newbie!
Best regards, thanks, Claudio

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast SEO (free version) and BeTheme (Muffin Builder)Hi @devnihil thanks for your clear and exhaustive answer!
since I do not see here any way of attaching an image, I uploaded two screenshots of what I mean…
here they are:
first (upper):
https://abload.de/image.php?img=bildschirmfoto2021-03gfksn.pngand then scrolling down and reaching the SEO section of the Theme (I do think it is the theme):
https://abload.de/image.php?img=bildschirmfoto2021-035jklq.pngIf the images are readable, the second one shows also a part of the Yoast menus.
As you can see in this example (the home page) I did type something in BOTH fields, I understand from your answer I should blank the theme SEO input fields and use only the Yoast one, right?
Best regards & thanks again!
