    Hey,

So i am trying to download WordPress on my MacBook. Upon installation i realised that you actually download files instead of a installation system sort of thing. I YouTube’d how to work around this and they said that you must download MAMP and then go to the localhost… etc etc etc…

When i get MAMP running (with both green lights) and type in “localhost” on Chrome… my files won’t come up. I then went back to MAMP so realise mySQL is now red. So i uninstalled, fixed the problem and typed in “localhost” again… and ended back with that red light!

What am i doing wrong? Is there an easy way to instal and start using WordPress to make my website??

    Thank you!

  • See if this helps. There are some instructions on the settings to use.

Thank you for your response. I downloaded the MAMP software and both green lights came on.

What i don’t understand is that when i follow the alteration steps in “Step 2” of the link above, is that the mySQL light turns red. I have tried to delete the MAMP and then delete all mysql and http activity on my monitor, reinstall and follow the steps again but it goes red again. How can i fix this red light?

    Thanks,

i have a question also. i downloaded mamp it is in a zip and when i try to open the zip I get this message: “There is no application set to open the document “MAMP_MAMP_PRO_2.1.1.zip.crdownload”. What do i do with that. The instructions on wordpress do not say that it will be in a zip file.
