Well, I’m glad I’m not the only one confused. Perhaps the codex should be altered to reflect this confusion. My ignorance has been eradicated. However, I have now been discombobulated. Thanks for the responses so far!

Really? So, for example, if I create a theme that contains ‘the_content’ then it has to be GPL compatible?

It’s fantastic for the average wordpress user as it take all the effort of a few mouse clicks and some dragging and dropping to make it look good. At the same time, its very easy to hardcode it into the template for advanced users.

I’m slowly working my way through all the sites offered by the plugin and rating / ranking them from an authors perspective. Feel free to read along at Maxpower

Does no one else see this danger? Why have something that should be used for important things clouded by garbage that you can find on any other site?

Thanks for the suggestion projectego, but that plugin only lists recent in a similar manner as brians recent comment’s plugin and others in that it simply lists some recent posts (in your sidebar or whatnot). I’m looking for something more, admin-y(?).

IF all your posts have the more tag, you could in theory do the following:

+ install adsense deluxe and configure the –adsense– tag
+ Do a find and replace on the DB for all your posts to find –more– and replace it with –more– –adsense–

All that said, you’d probably be further ahead to figure out what your most popular / applicable posts are and put adsense on those. I have no idea how to actually do the find and replace bit, but I’m sure you can.
