I deleted the plugin entirely and installed it again. The left menu showed up as normal.
I ran a backup job which it says completed successfully, but the Backups the Backups tab says there are no backups available. I have tried twice.
I see that BackWPup has lots of positive reviews, so i am not sure why it doesn’t work on my site.

Yumpu ePaper publishingSir. No sir.
I would need to create an FTP backup to test this, but at the moment I can’t find the BackWPup settings anymore from the left WordPress menu.
I still have a tab open to the BackWPup settings, so I can see where they should appear. However, on any refreshed page they are gone. The plugin is activated.
I have deactivated and reactivated the plugin several times.

Thanks for the explanation. That definitely makes more sense.
May I suggest that the interface not allow you to download a backup until it is completed? And also have some sort of indicator of the backup’s status.
This would prevent people such as myself from downloading incomplete backups and thinking they have issues. Simply a user perspective.
Of the 5 backups I have made, 3 still have the odd extension some days later. The two that have only the .zip extension are still unable to be extracted after downloading.
Same problem on my Mac. Downloaded .zip file is incomplete and cannot be opened.

In reply to: [Redirection] Cannot Edit Permanent RedirectJust following up on this. There was another setting I missed that was redirecting the page. For anyone reading this, the Redirection plugin is working just fine and doing it’s job. Cheers!

In reply to: [Redirection] Cannot Edit Permanent RedirectI manually typed in the url into my browser:
https://www.bucksawcreative.com/account and you are correct, it redirects to https://www.bucksawcreative.com/diy-guide as desired. However:
I am using the EasyCart plugin to create a members-only area of my site. EasyCart creates a login page, but I used the Redirection plugin to redirect to a page of my choice instead of the default Account page also created by EasyCart.
The EasyCart login page has somehow permanently retained the first redirect url I created. When logging in, it still redirects to the first url. I tested this on someone else’s computer on an entirely different browser.
My bandaid solution is to create yet another redirect from the incorrect url. So the page redirects twice now before landing on the desired page. This will work for now.
I’m sure the Redirection plugin is just doing it’s job, but when combined with EasyCart, something happened that now can’t be changed. Just a heads up for future development. If you have any suggestions I am all ears.

In reply to: [Redirection] Cannot Edit Permanent RedirectThe original redirect is https://www.bucksawcreative.com/account to https://www.bucksawcreative.com/diy-guide-dashboard
The new redirect is https://www.bucksawcreative.com/account to https://www.bucksawcreative.com/diy-guide
All I did was remove “dashboard” from the url.
Any advice on clearing cache? More steps than I have already done?
Thanks for the help.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Very Poor User ExperienceWhen I click on Edit Your Review it brings me to a page for editing the last review, not by me. Same with the Edit Your Own Review button.
How do I change my rating?

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Very Poor User ExperienceThank you for your timely reply, and for addressing each of my concerns. I will look into what I could have done differently and where I went wrong.
Two things to remember:
? When designing plugins and any software, even though it may seem obvious to you how to navigate through the interface and all info and warnings are sufficiently placed to your eye, one should never assume the customer is stupid if they fail to understand how a part of the plugin works. Rather, take the feedback and use it to improve the system, as you will only know how your plugin is perceived through the customer’s eyes if they give you feedback on their user experience.
? Always remain professional when interacting with customers. Sarcasm is not becoming.
I have changed the rating on this review as I understand you are trying to create a high end backup service, and you do care enough about your customers to reply to their concerns, albeit quite defensively.
