My PHP is already set to Ultrafast which appears to be 8.2.21 I switched to Manual and selected 8.3.9
I was still unable to upload the HEIC photo. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong ??
I will instruct my clients to set their iPhone to take photos in JPG format, and hopefully won’t get too many clients with large folders full of HEIC photos.
Thanks for the reply! Here’s what I’ve tried:
- I made sure the ImageMagick is turned on in the Site Tools PHP settings.
- The HEIC Support plugin shows: ImageMagick 7.1.1-33 Q16-HDRI x86_64 22263 https://imagemagick.org
- SiteGround support got me to lower my PHP version from 8.2.21 to 8.1.29 to test.
- I disabled all plugins except the HEIC Support plugin.
I tried uploading a HEIC photo but still got the error message. SiteGround support is not sure what the issue is.
I see you got it to work on your website, so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong ??
When you say “In our opinion, SiteGround does not need to update their plugin to provide HEIC to JPG (or WebP) support since the HEIC format is not supported by all major browsers, except Safari. Too much effort for a small gain.”
— I don’t need the browser to DISPLAY the HEIC photos. Instead I need the plugin to CONVERT the HEIC photos to JPG. The reason is because my clients will try to upload photos taken with their Apple phones to their website. I want these photos to be automatically converted to JPG so they don’t need to edit them first or contact me every time they want to upload a photo.
Therefore I think it would be reasonable to request that the Optimizer plugin include this feature, especially if they already auto-resize and auto-optimize photos, which are designed to eliminate the need to edit photos before uploading.

In reply to: [Booster for WooCommerce] Redirect After PurchaseYes, I want to sell memberships on my site using WooCommerce Memberships, and when the customer purchases a membership I want them to be redirected to their Dashboard page upon checkout. Sounds like this is possible with Booster, yes?
Yes, I have to go into editing mode in my page builder, then click on my Portfolio module and click Update. Then these pages start working again.
I have to do this EACH time I disable/enable Jetpack.
If I wasn’t already using the Portfolio page type I would uninstall Jetpack from my site because of this reoccurring issue.
Alright then. Good to know.
From a user point of view, you might want to consider somehow preventing the connection from being broken.
Many other plugins have connections to accounts and can be safely turned off and on without breaking the connection each time.
Cheers!
Update: I believe I was confused. Jetpack doesn’t disconnect when it updates, it disconnects after it’s been DISABLED and enabled.
So what happens is when theres an issue with the site and a bunch of plugins are temporarily disabled, if I’m not paying attention then Jetpack remains disconnected after enabling it again. This often happens when a developer is hired to do the fixing. This disables all my portfolio pages.
Here is a screen recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuQ5kmG
You can see the Portfolio post types are available until I disable Jetpack, and then they’re still missing after I enable it again. I have to set up Jetpack EACH TIME I disable it.All my other plugins can be enabled without any issues whatsoever. Is this possible with Jetpack?

I think I was not logged in the first time. ??
I sent the request using the form.
Thank you!!
Hi Jen,
I am not a paying customer so the form just gives me links to documentation.
Do you have another contact method?
Hi Tracy!
I update Jetpack manually.
I do have the SG Optimiser plugin from my host, Siteground, which can auto-update the Jetpack if I set it to. I have not yet because of this issue.
Yes this has happened ever since I started using the Jetpack portfolio pages a couple years ago.
Thanks,
ClarkWell I only need to purge the cache after Jetpack is temporarily deactivated to troubleshoot. So far I haven’t had to do this very often.
It’s just that usually you can deactivate and then reactivate all the plugins on your site and everything goes back to normal. Jetpack is the only one where deactivating it causes extra work.
Hi James,
I am with SiteGround and using their SG Optimiser plugin.

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] Fastest Cache caused a config issue in the .htaccess file.Ok I can disable that option.
However, doesn’t that defeat the purpose of a caching plugin? I understood it’s job was to cache the page files on a user’s browser after the page loads for the first time.

In reply to: [WP Fastest Cache] Fastest Cache caused a config issue in the .htaccess file.Well the problem seems to be solved after the tech support fixed the PHP code. Since then I am able to disable and enable as normal.
I just want to make you aware of the issue in case it happens again or to someone else.
Ah that makes sense. Thanks for making it clear!
So in my Dropbox, which has backups from several different backup sessions, I see a long list of various backup files. I have to carefully look at the dates to see which ones are from the same session.
Is there any way to set Updraft to save each session in its own folder with the date?
It seems other backup plugins create one file per backup. However I am not to judge if this is better.
