For the info of others who may encounter the same problem:

Found the cause of the problem – the theme files have been hacked and some scum bag has added many lines of links (to drug sites) to my header.php file. Have patched the theme files and everything looks okay now.

I’m getting the same error message, “The key below was previously validated but a connection to akismet.com can not be established at this time. Please check your server configuration.”

My web host is not Yahoo but SiteGround. Seems to me a problem with the WordPress software or plugin. Could someone help?

Looks like a plugin problem. Removed the My Category Order plugin, updated the Fold Category plugin with new arguments. All’s well now.

Same problem with my site.

Plus: I see an error message, “Table ‘clapp2_wrdp1.wp_categories’ doesn’t exist” for My Category Order plugin.

Hi, mikeo75. How do you remove all the plugins when you cannot log in? Through the back door (File Manager or FTP)?

Good grief! “chown -R apache:root /my-wordpress-directory” looks like some Linux line command which is normally not accessible from most Web hosting account.

Is there any other solution? My web host is asking for:

“Can you please provide us with a step-by-step instruction and a set of login details to test it?”

What am I supposed to do? Just remove DB_CHARSET and DB_COLLATE from my wp-config.php file? The post-deletion problems reported by the others sound scary.

Upon disabling WP-Paginate, only one (or whatever specified number) of the posts is displayed on the page.

I’m a little reluctant to remove WP-Paginate totally. Is there a way to fix this?

Only three plugins are active right now: PXS Mail Form, WP Paginate and Get Recent Comments. These have been there for some time and the problem of displaying all posts on one page had appeared till now.

Thank you, Dr Mike. Yes, now I see the references to arc90_imgcaption.js — these were inherited from the WP theme.

Regarding the_loop, nope, have not made any changes. I hope the other administrator has not too. Don’t think he would. The only change I can remember is simply the upgrade to WP2.1.
