No one has got back to me but i managed to fix this problem myself.

Category name on facebook contained & sign – so my category was Health & Fitness and Tools & Gadgets.

I have deleted the & symbol and the pixel helper and pixel is firing as it should now.

Came on to share in case anyone else is having this problem
