In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] changing “keep me updated” textHi @luciahae!
Thank you very much for reaching out.
Configuring own email templates is possible with the custom templates of one of the integrated GDPR complying email provider (Mailjet or Mailchimp), and if you have an active subscription of the “Organisation” or “Flexible” Plan. The Flexible Plan isn’t automatically more expensive. The pricing is calculated based on your needs and could be a one-time fee.
Regarding the newsletter subscription sentence
The sentence for the newsletter subscription cannot be changed on your own for legal reasons and since it is deeply integrated into our systems. All other translations would be affected. If you want to provide legal information, there are two possible ways:-
– Placing the legal information in the confirmation email itself with custom templates (see above)
– Adding the information directly on the petition website (what’s still the best option, since the privacy policy needs to be available on the whole website.) Most customers choose this way.I hope this explanation is helping you. If you have any follow-up question, please let me know.

In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] Display only the progressHi manuelelaghi!
I talked to our tech team and want to answer your question.
Unfortunately, if you use the WordPress Classic editor, there is no way to hide the form and show only the progress bar. It is only possible to config your petition form the other way around (hiding the progress bar).
If you use the Gutenberg editor, you can follow these steps to show only the progress bar. It is even possible to add a form multiple times, for example, at one page only the form and at another page only the progress bar of the same form.
1. Please go to your page with the petition form and choose the Civist Block
2. Use the “Styles” in the “Block” section on the right while editing the Civist Block
3. The fourth styling option, called “Progress”, will remove the form and show only the progress bar.
4. Save your new settings, and you are ready to go.

In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] Display only the progressHi manuelelaghi,
Thank you very much for reaching out.
It is possible to change the appearance of the form and its progress bar.
Do you use the WordPress Classic editor or the new Gutenberg editor?

In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] Prepopulate email fieldHi shirazwd!
Thank you very much for reaching out.
Unfortunately, we don’t have an option to prepopulate form fields via URL.
We discussed a function like that in the past and decided against it. URLs in emails like that can cause data protection problems. For example, a supporter of yours sends the received email to a friend to sign it. This friend does the same and sends the email to a third person that is not related to the first recipient. That third person would see the prepopulated information too.
I am sorry to have no better news for you. If you have any other question about Civist, feel free to reach out again. You can use our support channel if you like. Usually, it guarantees faster responses. You can find the “Civist Support” button in the right bottom corner of your WordPress main window after choosing “Civist” in the WordPress menu on the left.
Have a great day and all the best from Berlin

In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] Display SignaturesHi Jjanthony,
Thanks for your reply.
To mention the GDPR (or other relevant data protection laws) is definitely a good move. It is also possible to use compliance with data protection in a positive way, e.g. “Just as we want to deal consciously with our earth, we deal consciously with your data. For reasons of data protection, we refrain from publicly displaying the names of all signatories.” Maybe, this can even raise the level of trust in your actions. Some of our clients hat good experiences with it.
The support button is barely visible, so it doesn’t distract you while working in Civist. The button’s text is “Civist Support”. It can be found generally in the lower right corner, as soon as you click on the “Civist” Plugin in your WordPress menu. Unfortunately, I can’t add a screenshot to my message. In case you can’t find no button, please reach out again. Thank you very much.
Have a great evening and all the best,

In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] Display SignaturesHi Jjanthony,
Thank you very much for reaching out.
My name is Frank, and I am the Data Protection Officer in Civist.
Unfortunately, there is no way to show all signatures on a WordPress page or post automatically. You can only export them as CSV.
Civist users ask for this feature from time to time, and we once had plans to integrate it. However, making it available in a way that all the different data protection regulations worldwide, like the EU-GDPR or the CCPA, are addressed, seems to be impossible. One of our primary business goals is to build a highly secure system that respects the privacy of all clients and their supporters, and political data is very susceptible. A signature wall carries risks, in particular for the supporters privacy, and we decided not to implement this feature.
We know other tools provide this feature, but to be honest: It is a very questionable function.
We also recommend not to use tools that show supporters data publicly. Potential data leaks may cause unforeseeable problems, including penalty fees, bad press and loss of trust by your supporters.
Please let me know if you have any other question or if you need anything else. We are happy to help.
All the best and have a great week,

In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] WordPress 5.6 and shortcodeHello mkaobrih,
Thank you for contacting us.
We will investigate the problem as soon as possible. Please bear with us if it takes a while. Due to the Corona lockdown, we are unfortunately unable to provide a solution as quickly as we usually do.
I have one question. The answer to it would speed up our search for the cause of the problem. Does the problem only occur when integrating the shortcode or also when integrating the petition via the Civist widget in the Gutenberg block editor?
Thank you very much for your support.
If you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are happy to help.
With best regards
the Civist Support TeamPS: Did you know that contacting us via our support widget directly in the Civist plugin in your WordPress speeds up response times? You are welcome to use our support widget for future requests. That often guarantees a faster response. ??

In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] How to embed form in wpbakeryHi rizwanmdk,
We missed a message from you in our support tool. Therefore, I talked with our technical team and tried to get some answers for you.
Unfortunately, with the given information regarding WPbakery, we are not sure if we can help. How did you integrate the Civist form to your page? Did you use the widget (Civist block) or a created shortcode?

In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] Disable email verificationHi Guilherme!
Thank you very much for reaching out.
?
I am sorry to tell you that the confirmation email can’t be disabled. We are an EU-based company, and due to the stringent data protection and privacy laws in the EU (and some other countries in the world), there is no way around. The email verification is a requirement to make sure that your petition is only signed by the people that have access to the email account with the email address used while signing your petition (Double-Opt-In). Without the confirmation, it is not allowed to process the data and to send further emails, such as a subscribed newsletter. All the best,

In reply to: [Civist - Petitions and Fundraising] Confirmation email after signingHi @adealmeida,
Thank you very much for reaching out.
I’m sure we can solve the problem if Civist causes it. To do so, I like to ask if you could please check two things upfront.
We had a Plugin-Update yesterday. Have you already the newest Plugin Version 7.1.1 running?
Did you check your Spam folder? Civist sends the Verification emails with the sender address [email protected]. In very sporadic cases, emails get flagged as spam.
Please contact us through the support form in the Civist Plugin so that we can hand over your case to our technical team for further investigations. You should see a “Civist Support” button in the lower right corner of the Civist Dashboard inside your WordPress. That also usually assures faster replays. Thank you very much.
All the best,
