In reply to: mytreasures mysql errorsSame error here – even on a clean test install. Deactivating the plugin for now, but I’m waiting with anticipation a new version (or a workaround) ??

In reply to: [Plugin: dashboard-last-news] It rocksMmh, perhaps the error is related to a PHP4 vs PHP5 problem? Does this plugin require PHP5? If so, the doc should include this information.

In reply to: [Plugin: dashboard-last-news] It rocksI second travers211 problem; on line 109, there is the following code:
<?php echo $style ?>
and i suppose it should read
<?php echo $style; ?>
but even after correcting it, it throws out the same error on activation:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR, expecting ',' or ';' in /wp-content/plugins/dashboard-last-news/dashboard-last-news.php on line 109

In reply to: WP 2.0 – Features?Usually reviews are made on final versions, not on betas, so you should wait a little before having any. I assume the Codex will be updated by legions of users and reviews will fall by the boatload once final is out ;o)

In reply to: No AJAXfied Write?This may be a silly question, but have you checked that js is not disables by, e.g., the web developer toolbar in Firefox? Or by Adblock? (I once had some troubles with GMail, Adblock and some funky Adblock rules…)

In reply to: Upgrade to 2.0 beta2Yes, I second that: simple but well-thought out additions are the best, and this one sure belongs to that number!
Flawless upgrade between B1 and B2 here as well.

In reply to: WP Beta-1 releasedEverything seems to work fine so far! The addition of Akismet and WP Database Backup is a good plus, I was just going to cite them in a post about essential plugins for WP. This will save me some typing ;o)
The only minor gripe is an error spit out when using the K2 Theme on top of every post:
WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'user_level' in 'where clause']
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM wp_almaren_users WHERE user_level > 1
This must probably be corrected in K2, not in WP, so I’m going to cross-post this on their support forums.
I’m going to test it out this week-end, and let you know if anything else comes out, but for now thank you for your great work!

In reply to: Export WP -> WPYes, this buggers me too. I see on the Codex that among WP 1.6’s new features there’s Lossless XML import/export, which could address this issue. But I seem to remember this already being in the list for 1.5, back in the days, so…
Frankly, there’s no reason not to have this in WP. Event MT did it right (no flames, please), back in their 2.x days. The whole point of being able to export all your data from WP (and reimporting them again) is that it is your data and you care about it!
Now, I know there are solutions for backing up your data directly from MySQL, or through a plugin or another. But such a feature directly built into WP would make it even easier for the mythical “average user”: my mum couldn’t care less about MySQL and phpMyAdmin, but she sure would care about what she wrote on her WP-site. She couldn’t care less about the format of import/export, be it a bunch of text files or XML, but she could see immediately “Ah, here I can backup all of last year’s writing, save it to CD, and if I mess everything up I will be back with my content on-line in no time”.
WP developers have astonished and surprised me in many good ways since a couple of years now. Such an import/export feature really would be another top feather in their hats, and I hope they’re thinking about it.
