MichaelH, thanks for the help. I was able to install WP 2.2 upgrade no problem, thanks to Dreamhost 1 click installs.

It looks like my theme, Sirius, doesn’t allow widgets. ; ( But I really like the look of my blog right now

Oh that’s fine. i have no problem deleting it along with every other plugin. What I’m saying is, can I keep my current theme and upgrade to 2.2?

Okay well I’m afraid Sirius by Olaf A Schmitz isn’t Sidebar Widget compatible then, as it’s not available when I go to Presentation. Just Theme Editor and Options, a part of the theme.

My only issue with changing is, I really like my look!

MichaelH, you said version2.2 has widgets as part of the code? So what if I upgrade to 2.2 and keep my theme? Is that possible?

What if I download 2.2, deactivate plugins, run the upgrade script, then reactivate sidebar widgets… will that work?

Okay so maybe what I was thinking was sending out “pings”? Is it this that allows you to actively propagate your blog across the net?

And if so, do you use tags, keywords, to do this?

But tell me, when I post an entry in my blog, is WordPress sending out RSS feeds automatically?

Is there something I can do to enhance or customize that?

Okay, thanks so much for writing back, Paul. But now, I choose the link icon, enter in text for the link, follow that with the text you suggested, and nothing shows up. No link at all.

But at least the sickly green is gone…

But what do I do to make my links work? I think I need to specify, my issue was with my link on WordPress blog! Not the support posting. But you knew that…

So basically, the issue now is, links just don’t appear at all.

Hey, blepoxp, thanks for writing back. Yes! I found it, and that seems to have done it. It seems to be available now. So i just need to “prime” it, and i’ll be all set. Thanks again. I really appreciate your help.

I’m sorry if this is a hopelessly naive question, but how do i get to my new category to post in it!?

I go to write, and I can write page or post, but neither allows me to choose my new category. I know this category exists. My Admin panel allows me to delete or add a new category; I don’t know how to make the first post in it.

Can anyone tell me how to make the first page opened the comments page? I have moderation and email off, so users can just quickly comment on my website and be on their way, without having to go to another page, etc. Appreciate any help. Thanks so much!
