In a different post the author suggested we use the shortcode [sharify] inside the blog post’s edit field to make the social media buttons show up on the blog page.

my client has sent me the following info:

On his Macbook the sidebar jumps, too (Safari 6.2.8, Mac Os X 10.8.5).
His iPad uses iOS 8.3 and Safari (strangely with no version number).

Please let me know if you can recreate that weird behaviour on your end and have any idea what might cause this.

Either the Permalinks Settings steps I took according to your suggestion were effective only after a few minutes or the problems I had stemmed from some plugin that messed things up, because changing those settings didn’t seem to do anything useful (except the very first settings, resulting in ugly …/?cat=xyz links).
However, after I had deactivated the plugins “Simple Tags” and “Flexi Pages Widget”, Bob was my uncle again ??

Sidebar flickering:
I was afraid you would ask for the config next, but I do not own any Apple products and will have to ask my client for his versions.

The issue appears not to be with the Category widget — if I navigate to Dashboard / Posts / Categories I get the expected list of categories and the amounts of posts for each category.
However, clicking the textlink “view” (next to edit, quick edit and delete), I, again, am presented with a list of all posts from all categories.

I have tried removing the Category widget from the sidebar and re-adding it, but the problem persists.
