Having the same problem- not able to change from drop-down. Was working fine before 2.9 update.

Tried the patch from the moderator’s link and that doesn’t help. It did stop the fatal it was throwing, though.

Just tried the moderator’s suggestion for using

/*
Template Name Posts: Snarfer
*/
?>

And it works. ??

Actually, it’s because “Posts” is in there now. There would be better compatibility if I didn’t have to have two indicators (one for Posts and Pages).

This helped with some of the conflicts on the slug and moving the boxes, but I cannot toggle the collapsed state. I applied a fix from another thread re: the issue, but that may have been only for 2.8 only.

Any ideas?

I’m getting 404s on my permalinks too, but it was working just fine yesterday. In fact, it’s been working fine for months!

Checked .htaccess and everything looks okay
I’m on Dreamhost, don’t know if I can get into the conf.

I didn’t do anything under the hood on Apache. Are there files I may have touched in the WP directories (besides .htaccess) from which there could be an issue?

I’m using tag_cloud to pull the list of all tags in the site. When I click on a link for which there is only one post, it brings me to the actual post, not an archive with only one listing- which is what I expected to see.

Heh. Actually, the fact the title was too long clued me to just resize my browser’s text. Sure enough, the “edit” link appear after resizing down a notch. Thanks!
