In reply to: [WP YouTube Lyte] A suggestionThanks, Frank. I’m sorry for my late reply too. ??

In reply to: [WP YouTube Lyte] GDPR Compliance does not work. No, it’s what I want. I don’t want the video to load (or, more importantly, any data to be shared with YouTube or any cookies set) until the person taps the placeholder image. So, it’s behaving how I need it to. Thanks!

In reply to: [WP YouTube Lyte] GDPR Compliance does not work. Thanks, @optimizingmatters. I had already enabled that option, so that must be why the video isn’t loading ahead of someone tapping the image on mobile. Thanks!

In reply to: [Posts Like Dislike] Like button not displayed where it should beA couple more questions:
- What exactly does Fontawesome do? Does it pull in just the required icons from an API? Or does it save a whole set to my server? I’m just wondering about privacy (for my visitors), too. Does it collect any personal data?
- I tried using a custom image instead and the above CSS didn’t work for that. I think the class name needs to be changed. Can you provide the right CSS for a custom image?
Thanks!

In reply to: [Simple Statistics for Feeds] Strict reportingNo problem! Thanks again for the fantastic plugin.

In reply to: [Simple Statistics for Feeds] Strict reportingI did a test today. I turned Enable strict reporting of feed statistics on and Disable collection of all IP address data off. That (preventing IP collection) definitely seems to have been the issue. I’m getting what I think is a fairly accurate subscriber count now, instead of just “1”.
If it’s possible, you might want to reopen my other thread, “What happens if I disable IP collection?” and add a final post to say that this is one effect that the Disable collection of all IP address data setting will have.

In reply to: [Simple Statistics for Feeds] Strict reportingJust had a thought: The issue I had above with strict reporting wouldn’t be related to the fact that I’ve disabled IP-address collection, would it?
I’m sure strict reporting has worked for me when I’ve used this plugin on other sites in the past, but I think this is the first time I’ve disabled IP-address collection.
Thanks!
That does help. Thanks!

In reply to: [WP YouTube Lyte] What is the purpose of the cookie wp-youtube-lyte_feedThanks for looking into that, Frank. It is weird. I tested it in Chrome on a MacBook too, and the cookie wasn’t set there–only on my Windows laptop.
I think I’ll uninstall the other plugin. Videos are more important to me than likes. ??

In reply to: [WP YouTube Lyte] What is the purpose of the cookie wp-youtube-lyte_feedInteresting. When I sign out of WordPress Admin, visit my site (as if I’m a visitor), and click the like icon (heart) under a post, which is generated by another plugin, that cookie (wp-youtube-lyte_feed) is set.
Note: This happened on a Windows laptop in Chrome. I’m not sure whether it happens in other environments.
Any idea what might be causing that? A conflict with the other plugin, or something else?

In reply to: [Posts Like Dislike] Like button not displayed where it should beThank you! That worked.
A few more questions:
- I haven’t enabled the setting?Display 0(Zero) by default. For a post that hasn’t yet had a like, if I click the icon, a count of “1” appears. If I click it again, the count changes to “0” (instead of disappearing). With the setting not being enabled, I would have expected the count to disappear again instead of changing to “0”. Not a big deal, but I wonder whether this should be the case.
- I haven’t enabled the setting Hide Counter Info Metabox, but I can’t see, in WP Admin, where the info metabox appears. I sort of expected there to be a like count next to each post on the Posts page, but maybe this appears somewhere else?
- Is there a way to reset the like counts for all posts?

In reply to: [Posts Like Dislike] Like button not displayed where it should beSorry, I’ve re-enabled it at chrislt.art. I don’t want to leave it up too long, though, because it doesn’t look right.
You’ll see the heart is over to the left (hard up against the side of the screen) of each post’s metadata.
I want it to appear within the metadata.
Also:
- I’d prefer not to enable Fontawesome, but when I use the setting to disable it, I don’t see any heart at all.
- When I click the heart twice, I see a ‘0’, despite not having the setting Display 0(Zero) by default set.
I look forward to your reply!

In reply to: [WP YouTube Lyte] GDPR Compliance does not work. When on mobile by default LYTE will load the YT vid earlier then when on desktop, which means YT resources will indeed be loaded even without the user clicking “play”
Just wondering whether this has since been addressed. I don’t notice the image changing to the YouTube video (until I tap the image) when I am on mobile.
The reason I’m using the plugin, in combination with some text, is to be GDPR-compliant. But if this doesn’t work on mobile, it’s not a complete solution for me. (Note: I realise this is not the primary intent of the plugin.)
