I am having the same issue – any custom fields I create are not saved. I did find though that any content added on the profile page – e.g. About Me was saved.
Perhaps it is an issue with the DB?

Thanks – I was aware of that and use it but the issue I have is that the latest 2 versions result in duplicated pagelinks in the menu – for example I have 2 home page links in the menu when viewed in smartphone, in 1st palce at the top of the list and then again in 6th place…
