In reply to: [Modula Image Gallery] Spam in my dashboardYeah, I suspect you’re going to be getting a lot more of these as users run the plugin update and then see the notification at the top of their WP Admin.

In reply to: [Modula Image Gallery] Spam in my dashboardHey @machothemes, maybe you could add a small message to the text of the notification that this helps support Enable Media Replace. I was just about to report it as SPAM too because we’d have every right to suspect that. It’s pretty Black Hat regardless of your intentions.

In reply to: [Event Organiser] Newbie Q – Event link not working.Hi Stephen, thanks for your reply. I’m going to have to pass this along to the web developer to see exactly what’s going on. Will get back to you.

In reply to: [Event Organiser] Newbie Q – Event link not working.I too am having problems with the event link not outputting properly. The link that gets generated on widgets etc has an additional ‘http//’ inserted into the link that kills it.
Here is an example link on my website’s staging server: https://http//gardensbc.flywheelsites.com/events/event/spring-soil-celebration/
I’ve bolded the extra http// in the link above.
You can see a screenshot of the link in the bottom left corner.

Also wanted to add that the individual event links DO NOT work on the Event page listings either.Would love to know if there is a fix coming for this output error, or if it’s anything on my end?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,

In reply to: Visual Editor STILL NOT working@ham1299 & @jrotha (and of course @kmessinger) for their help on this. I got my Visual Editor up and running again following @ham1299’s link above.
Give it a shot @stubbyd — sounds like we had exactly the same problems, so hopefully this simple fix will get you back up and running again.
Glad to have gotten this fix, I was starting to sweat a bit.

In reply to: Visual Editor STILL NOT workingI’m in exactly the same boat. Only 1 of 5 WordPress sites I manage is having this problem where the visual editor is full of white code that you can’t see until you highlight.
I too have done all the same steps you have, and installed Hotfix 0.8, and it didn’t do anything. Downgrading to 3.2 didn’t help.
Good to know I’m not alone.
Okay… I’ve now got it. I carefully re-read Otto42’s comment. The .maintenance file in the WP root directory, is an invisible file. (the [dot] in front of maintenance means the file is invisible).
So… Anybody else coming here trying to figure out how to remove that message from the top of your Dashboard… Turn on ‘Show Invisible Files’ (or whatever your FTP client says, I use Transmit) and delete that invisible ‘.maintenance’ file.
Worked like a charm.
As feared, when I went to do the latest update to 2.8.4 (via auto-update), I continue to get the same error message on the failed update. This is after doing everything as stated here, and then doing a manual install.
I’m obviously missing something. Anybody?
I tried the auto upgrade from 2.8.2 to 2.8.3 and I too have this same message. I’ve looked for all the files listed above, and I can’t see either the ‘update’ directory, or any ‘maintenance’ file, and yet I still get the error message.
Any other advice on how to get rid of that message? I did go back and manually update to 2.8.3, so how do I know if it is all working (it says i’m running 2.8.3 in the dashboard) I just want to make sure things will work moving forward from here.
