Thank you for you input! I apologize for your troubles and frustration. We receive many support requests for this plugin, and many of them request the features which you find to be so bothersome. Our intention is to inform our users of the availability of these features. We plan to release a new version very soon which will have the ability to shut off the preview of the advanced features.
The most common trouble people have is the PHP memory limit, which can be configured in your php.ini file. A simple test is to attempt to watermark an image with a small size, rather then a large image and if that works, most likely increasing your PHP memory limit should help.
We do offer paid support for all of our plugins on our website. We would be happy to log into your server and get it working for you, if you are unable to get it working yourself.
We originally created this plugin to do exactly what you are trying to do, add watermarks to images in the wp e-commerce plugin. Are you attempting to add new images and apply watermarks, or are you trying to watermark images already on your site? Have you tried the new version? We fixed a small glitch that caused many servers not running LAMP to give this error. Thanks!
If I understand your question correctly, the plugin is applying a watermark on an image and you would like to turn that off.
It appears that both of your example links are for the same Full Size file.
The watermark is applied to all of the images when they are uploaded, not just when you view them. In your first example you are using a program called timthumb.php to automatically resize, zoom and crop the Full Size Watermarked Image. Both of your examples are the same image file, so they will both have the watermark.

I have found many of the issues come from browser caching issues, give a few good Ctrl+F5’s if you still have trouble. Good Luck!
