Many hosts allow for PHP.ini to be configured on a per directory basis, which means your “confirmation” may not be 100% accurate.

If you do not have SSH access than your web host should have a way for you to restart the service.As far as the ‘exec’ it does not appear to be in the list of disabled functions, so you do not need to worry about it most likely.

If you need to remove an IP from the IP Address Blacklist, you may need to clear the access log first, and then simply clear the IP from the access log, and press the “Update IP Address Blacklist” Button.

In reply to: [Simple Backup] Can't connect to FTPIf you can connect to the FTP from a standard FTP client, and not from the website, you should double check the settings, and make sure they are exactly the same. A second possibility is that a firewall is preventing access to the FTP server.
The description of your configuration is a bit vague, but it almost sounds like you are attempting to connect to the same server where your website is hosted. This is not necessary, the FTP is to assist you in moving the backup files to a separate location.

You should remove the functions you would like to enable from that list.
