Unfortunately now the site is live I can’t make the changes (well I could but the owner would be upset). It’s ok, I will work on my local copy of the site and see if I can work it out from here.

Hi Bojan,

I tried changing the header.php file back to “span10” again and adding the code to my child theme style.css but the behaviour reverted to wrapping the menu again.

I also tried copying header.php to the child theme folder and modifying it but then the header was corrupted and an error message would be displayed overlapping the header.

I have screen shots to show you but don’t know how to post them here.

Line 96 of header.php is originally <div class=”top-nav-menu span10″> so I have changed it to span=12 else the menu items wrap after “How it Works” and the menu then has 2 lines. I am running a child theme and just wondered if there was a way to achieve this from the child copy of style.css rather than changing the theme files.

Hmmm… this works ok on my computer with a mouse and using Responsive Design View on my browser. On my phone the sub-menu drops down but disappears as soon as I lift my finger – and if I leave my finger on and try to select the sub-menu it causes the browser menu to appear so I can’t select the sub-menu.

Hi Gunjan, I used a child theme and added this into style.css but it didn’t change the behaviour. Does it matter where in the file you put it?

Solved, I found that changing the color while having 2 instances of the site open in the same browser was the problem. It did exactly the same thing in Chrome once I opened a second instance and changed the color scheme. It displayed fine after closing both instances and reopening it.

Thanks, it probably is something with the cache – I had 2 instances open in the same Firefox browser so I could work on the site and see the results in another tab. When I closed both and reopened the site it was fine again. What makes the feature disappear in this case is changing the color scheme with the 2 instances running in the browser. It did the same when I tried it in Chrome too. Next time I’ll try clearing the cache first.
