In reply to: [Indeed API] [Plugin: Indeed API] Adding an xml requestNo I haven’t. It is clearly beyond the capabilities of those in this forum. Code may be poetry but, in this case, it neither rhymes nor scans.

In reply to: XML Feed ImportRocky, Never did solve the problem It seems that the answer is beyond the capability of the people who work this forum. There should be a stock solution but the level of knowledge required is apparently above what is available here.

In reply to: WorpPress Export & Importmoyajaya, I did try it – it works better when I got the plug-in installed but it does not seem to accurately copy the posts identified. I am making some progress though – thanks for your help.
I have another way forward – can you suggest a way to add an XML request to a post? Is there a good plug-in or sample code for that?

In reply to: WorpPress Export & Importmoyajaya, I don’t know which plug-in you are referring to. As I said in my original post, I have tried the WordPress importer under tools but it does not import an XML file. The Exporter under tools creates an XML file but the Importer does not import it. The importer is looking for a WordPress WXR file. I have been trying to find a plug-in without success – can you recommend one? Chief

In reply to: WorpPress Export & ImportIpstenu, Thanks for your help but please read my original post. I exported a file from one site and am attempting to import it to another. How do I import an xml file? I tried to use the WordPress importer but it did not work. You wrote, “You should be able to install a XML file for your posts.” That is the problem I am trying to solve. How do I do that – how do I import an XML file into the site? Chief
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: WorpPress Export & ImportI am using 3.0.3 on both sites. My first attempt was to use the WordPress importer under tools – seemed logical – but it says that I need to “Choose a WordPress WXR file to upload, then click Upload file and import”. But the file created by Export is not a WXR file – it is XML. When I try to Import the XML file no posts are added to the site.

In reply to: XML Feed ImportI got the plug-in to work – the URL was added to a post. It’s a nice bit of code. Now I just have to figure out how to add a style sheet. Kill one daemon and up jumps another. (grins) Thanks for your help – any thoughts on how to call up the style sheet?

In reply to: XML Feed ImportWould you recommend that I use the Import HTML Pages plug-in for that?
Forum: Everything else WordPress
In reply to: XML Feed ImportThanks for the quick response. The source is Indeed – the job search engine. (https://www.indeed.com/) They provide an editable XML feed option and have given me an example of an XML request: https://api.indeed.com/ads/apisearch?publisher=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX&q=java&l=austin%2C+tx&sort=&radius=&st=&jt=&start=&limit=&fromage=&filter=&latlong=1&co=us&chnl=&userip=1.2.3.4&useragent=Mozilla/%2F4.0%28Firefox%29&v=2. When I go to the URL, I get the following message: “This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below” w/ the document tree below in code. I’ve searched the forums and can’t find the key to getting this to work. I need to figure out how to make the request and import the data. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,

In reply to: [WP-Members Membership Plugin] Bug fix for WP-Members 2.3.1Got a quick question. First off, I’m using the plug-in and it is really great. Easy to install and adjust. One problem that I am having. When I click on the ‘User’ option – to see the list of users – I get an error message. “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”. I am logged on as an administrator. Everything else works great. People are registering and I am getting e-mails with their contact information. I’ve followed the setup guide – well written BTW – and can’t figure out how to access the user list. I used a prior version on an older website some time back but can’t remember if I had to do something with the database in order to get it working. Can you make a suggestion? Thanks, Earl

In reply to: DashBar Upgrade problemFollow-up – I have tried to load the plugin directly with the same result. Can’t figure out how to fix the problem so I am staying with the prior version until it is fixed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, chief

Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: 2.7.1 ProblemsOtto, Thanks for the suggestion but it did not work. I have version 1.2.2 installed. I deactivated it, then removed it and re-installed using the automated process. It worked for the plugin but I got the same error message when I tried to upgrade to 2.7.1 I get the same error message on all five of the sites I am managing. Earl
