Now that my 3 column website is a two column website. Yeah, I pressed the button even thought it looked all screwed up in preview mode. I’m going to have to write about my experience. And to avoid further feelings of self-doubt, I will turn to something constructive to soothe my ego for the rest of the night. Until the next product testing.

@dcka I actually did that. Storefront is supposed to be for WooComm but in the live preview it takes over my entire site. It moved all the widgets to the left menu from the content menu and possibly other things. So it created a lot of work for me.

I can’t even start the installation process over from the beginning. It won’t let me. It pulls everything from WooCommerce even though I flushed the cache, deleted, reactivated … the plugin.

Jetpack and Gutenberg both addressed the blocks issue in their latest updates. I had that issue too. There were times when the timer kept spinning as if it was trying to connect but couldn’t. It sounds like you have Gutenberg.

What I did was, go to Appearance/Customizer (the regular Widgets section had trouble opening and my site would crash/time-out) and deleted the widget that was giving me problems. The widgets are saved in the section called something like Widgets Not In Use until you want to fully deleted them from there. But it helps to remove the widget and replace it with a new BLOCKS WIDGET. This is automatic when you add a new widget if you’re up-to-date with Gutenberg. The widgets are also new and compatible with blocks.

I was waiting to see if there are anymore issues. So far, it’s been good.

Thanks @slash1andy but how do I switch themes without starting over? My site has been slowed down a lot after I set up the plugin so it takes forever to test anything. Is there a magic button that I can press to select Storefront and deselect my current theme with all the drag?

Thank you for following up, janW.

The feature is called Featured Image. I misspoke; it’s available on the “2014” theme. You can select “Featured Image” from the bottom right corner below “Tags” and “Categories”. It works well, although it’s quite large.

Yes, I deactivated DFI. I may revisit it when I look at setting Category images.

The issue I’m trying to solve right now is with posts without images. When the post is shared, an image is assigned randomly. I don’t always want to include an image but if I don’t, one is automatically pick one up when it’s shared.
