Addendum: It might be necessary to clear your browsers cache to see the changes in the wp.org repository.

Basically, they had the same problem. The bluehost control panel stated it is running PHP 5.4 while it was not effectively enabled.

what PHP version is your server running? Could it be that it is below Version 5.2? The plugin requires at least PHP 5.3 to work.

What do you mean by “nothing happened”? Does the shortcode not work or what is the problem?
