    Started working again today… prob must have been at the Zon’s end. Thank you!

    Just found out it does this for Twenty Seventeen too… bad news if anyone resets to the default after breaking a theme.

    I appreciate this thread is closed but I have a suggestion on this topic. I had the same problem and called my ISP to correct the server time. In a nutshell, they can’t… If they correct the clock, timestamps all over the system will cause backups to be trashed, Dropbox files to sync in the wrong direction etc.

    The solution in the plugin I’m currently using is “Relaxed Mode” which allows +/- 4 minutes mismatch. No idea how… I suggest you could nick this idea and improve it by allowing the window size to be varied… You should be able to resolve timezone stuff algorithmically too.

    Cheers!

    My ISP has the server set an hour behind UK time so I’m buggered then…

    Okay, got it working:

    Template add %TEXT4% as search key:

    <script charset='utf-8' type='text/javascript'>
    amzn_assoc_ad_type = 'responsive_search_widget';
    amzn_assoc_tracking_id = '%TAG%';
    amzn_assoc_marketplace = 'amazon';
    amzn_assoc_region = '%MPLACE%';
    amzn_assoc_placement = '';
    amzn_assoc_search_type = 'search_widget';
    amzn_assoc_width = 'auto';
    amzn_assoc_height = 'auto';
    amzn_assoc_default_search_category = '';
    amzn_assoc_default_search_key = '%TEXT4%';
    amzn_assoc_theme = 'light';
    amzn_assoc_bg_color = 'FFFFFF';
    </script>
    <script src='//z-%REGION%.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&Operation=GetScript&ID=OneJS&WS=1&MarketPlace=%MPLACE%'>
    </script>

    Shortcode: [amazon template=search &text4=duty belt]

    Ditto: tried [amazon text=search term] and it doesn’t work…

    The template “iframe image2” is working much better… so my AWS stuff seems to be fine. I’ll change the flaky pages and see if it solves the problems.

    From my PoV your plugin is perfect… it doesn’t need development, just support to make sure AZON don’t break it ?? All other similar plugins have “issues”… like using an external service.

    Okay. First I should point out I’m not an experienced web programmer. This stuff has more punctuation than text… it is gibberish to me. Ideally, I just want a plug and play solution with a product thumbnail, a localised price and localised buy button. The default templates used to give us that but now all have flaws:

    I deleted all my templates so they refreshed from the default template list.

    * iframe image template as shown has unreliable image retrieval,
    * image template retrieves nothing, not even in preview.
    * multinational point blank refuses to show US price & flag.

    In short, we’re screwed. 200+ pages of messed up links.

    Happy to set you up an admin login.

    The product definitely exists in the US: B00864OIN2

    The US flag doesn’t appear in the preview or the real page:

    https://theedcbible.com/wp/shop/books/book3/rope-cord/paracord/

    Top row only is using this template code:

    <div class="amazon_prod">
     <div class="amazon_img_container">
      %LINK_OPEN%<img class="%IMAGE_CLASS%" src="%THUMB%">%LINK_CLOSE%
     </div>
     <div class="amazon_text_container">
      <p>%LINK_OPEN%%TITLE%%LINK_CLOSE%</p>
      <div class="amazon_details">
       <p>by %ARTIST% [%MANUFACTURER%]<br />
        <b>Price: <span class="amazon_price">
         <span class="al_found%FOUND%uk#">%LINK_OPEN%uk# <img style="height:10px" src="%FLAG%uk#"> %PRICE%uk#%LINK_CLOSE%</span>
         <span class="al_found%FOUND%US#">%LINK_OPEN%us# <img style="height:10px" src="%FLAG%US#"> %PRICE%US#%LINK_CLOSE%</span>
          <span class="al_found%FOUND%fr#">%LINK_OPEN%fr# <img style="height:10px" src="%FLAG%fr#"> %PRICE%fr#%LINK_CLOSE%</span>
    <span class="al_found%FOUND%de#">%LINK_OPEN%de# <img style="height:10px" src="%FLAG%de#"> %PRICE%DE#%LINK_CLOSE%</span>
         <span class="al_found%FOUND%es#">%LINK_OPEN%es# <img style="height:10px" src="%FLAG%es#"> %PRICE%es#%LINK_CLOSE%</span>
        </b>
       </p>
      </div>
     </div>
    </div>
    <img src="https://www.assoc-amazon.%TLD%/e/ir?t=%TAG%&l=as2&o=%MPLACE_ID%&a=%ASIN%" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />

    Notice it doesn’t exist in Spain… the flag is there with a dash for the price.

    I think a better solution is geolocated Search sorted by best average customer reviews (min 10 reviews). That way you should almost always find good quality products for you customer in most territories. Downside is it’s not a multilingual solution but okay for UK, US, Canada, Australia and India … which is pretty good!

    Hi Paul, I have a similar problem. Geolocation doesn’t seem to work though… I tried ?spoof_locale= with us/usa/US/USA and none of them worked. Screenshot

    I had the same thing happen to me ten years ago. I’ve learnt a few things which should help:

    Automated updates of core, plugins & themes using either Easy Updates Manager or Jetpack

    Augment your firewall with Wordfence

    Install automated backup with offsite storage, I use UpdraftPlus.

    I run over 60 sites with under an hour of maintenance per week with tricks like those…

    Good luck dude.

    If I were you I’d set the default to 600 to avoid future misunderstandings ??

    I’m not the developer but I’ve been using the plugin for a while… make sure your IP2Nation database is up to date, it maps IPs to countries so maybe that’s why your friends are appearing wrongly located.
