Alright – after a very long and frustrating day trying to figure this out here’s what I found – comes down to that suspicious looking code at the top of my plugins and themes.

This is what’s going on for me:
I updated to 4.0 and then i got this message “The plugin plugin-name/root-file.php has been deactivated due to an error: The plugin does not have a valid header.”
and then all the plugins disappeared.

I thought maybe it was cause they were not updated so I moved them to a temp folder and manually installed more current versions of those plugins. Worked but only shortly. They all disappeared again and I was not sure what was triggering this behavior.

Themes are not behaving this way however. That’s when I also noticed the funny code in the plugins and themes. Now I just do not know what to do with that. Anybody?
I guess I could remove it but I’m pretty sure (based on error message “invalid header” messages I keep getting and how this is happening) that the plugins disappear after this code is injected after installation. It’s gonna keep happening until we know where this code is coming from and how to stop it…which – unfortunately – is not something I can offer. :/

BTW, I just checked the plugins pre-install – they don’t have this funny code at the top.
The really long weird code is exactly the same everywhere. I’d post it here but it stars the same as JayColvin’s code so I think it might be the same for everyone. Ends like this:
$jookwirtbe=$ozrontrkdq-1; ?> Starts and ends the same way in plugins and themes.

BTW, I had a long list of plugins originally. Then I reinstalled 9 of them and those disappeared. Then I re-installed 4 of them and then those disappeared.
The last 4 I had re-installed were:
Testimonials widget
Smooth Slider
All in One Event
Nextgen Gallery

I didn’t change any of the calendar files.

I’m trying to get public user submissions to work with all-in-one calendar. I was using ucan post before for the submissions and then I went into the pending post and added a custom field that allowed me to ‘convert’ it into an event post.
I thought I might be able to do that with Gravity Form but no luck. Is there a different way to do this?

I’m also looking to have different size thumbnails. I need three different thumbnail sizes – each a percentage in height of the others: 65%, 56% and 48% of the original. Hopefully I’ll be able to display the full size in a Lightbox effect.
Did you figure out a way to fit different sizes? Please share here if you did. ??

I’ve only found out that I have to create a new theme. BUT have no idea what code I put in there – since I’m not a programmer after all.
I also found a few files that deal with pagination layout but they are not theme files!
Any suggestions or solutions??

Just wanted to check-in about the 2.1.4 update. I’ve downloaded it from your site (looks like the WordPress one hasn’t been updated in a while) BUT I don’t know what to do with the files. How do I upgrade my MediaElements.js WordPress plugin so the player will play the mp3s in Safari as well?
Maybe there are instructions somewhere and I missed it?

Oh yeap – I should mention that when I go to other settings pages within the same plugins and even if I change anything besides the “Specify fields to show:” settings (BTW, I was changing list types – not “event type”) it saves w/out problem.
All other parts of the site seem to be just fine.

I like your plugin once I figure out how to use it…Actually I’m still figuring it out (my nextgen header slideshow disappears in the calendar templates). So for all the work that I’ve had to put into it I would not buy it.

If the plugin was easier to use, ie: there was a shortcode that is easy to plugin into a page and I don’t have to mess around with code or templates, if it offered a way for users to submit their events, the event submissions were monitored, had color-coded event categories for the calendar, and the layout was easy to customize – in other words if you have the calendar of my dreams ?? I’d consider a premium version. But like someone else said you should still offer a basic freemium version of it. Some people don’t need all the features.

I’m interesting too. Have been looking around for a while. If there isn’t a WordPress plugin that can do it maybe there’s a way to make the conveyor belt work with the Nextgen gallery plugin?
