How do I add photos to the blog page?

I would prefer not using a plug in. The link you sent if for only one image.
I want to add padding to an entire gallery. WordPress used to do this but does not any more.

I would like to add space around the gallery but see not where to do this.
Also is there a utube on editing this theme?

I just installed the plugin. I only want to regenerate part of my thumbnails. I so not see the options for doing this. Where is this option.

Thank you for the reply. What I am wanting to do is create 3 photos, in a row, of a custom size, long and narrow. I do not see how to do this in gallery. Could you refer me to how to create custom sized photos?
