I’ve got a similar but a little different problem — users can enter comments but they never display. Tried changing the theme, plugins, re-installing 2.7.1, everything I can think of.

At this point I almost need to hack my DB to dump information into a backup copy of 2.7 and go from there.

AUTOUPDATE seems dangerous w/o embedded backups!!!!

Also, please let me add that any pre-upgrade comments entered are displaying as they should.
