I’ve got an updated reply from my host suggesting using the “rename-xmlrpc” WordPress plugin.
Would that be a way to resolve the issue I have or not?

Thank you for your clear and extensive answer!
I went through all your suggestions without finding fault, so eventually contacted my host and it appears that they are indeed blocking the file ??

Unfortunately, the use of the XMLRPC.PHP file has been permanently disabled on our Shared hosting servers. Our management has reached that decision after we suffered downtime for some of our clusters due to exploits from this file. XMLRPC can be used/accessed only by Jetpack.

So I guess that I can’t resolve this issue, without changing host or hosting plan ??

With yesterdays update of the app and by creating a new event instead of editing the existing one, I managed to resolve most of my issues, except for certain translations (“Your Answer Yes/NO” “Guest” “Add more guests” “Submit”)

My host was contacted before I posted my problem here. They say they can’t resolve it, because it’s something to do with WordPress.

BTW, I do not use Yoast and disabling all of my plugins did not do anything to relieve the problem.

In the mean time I also tried all of the following:

• Switched to a wordpress default theme
• Disabled all of my plugins
• Made a new htaccess
• Reinstalled wordpress 4.4

Nothing resolved the issue. It’s quite frustrating.

I now have 4 tabs under settings (compared to 3 in previous versions), including settings [screenshot]

I just installed this latest version, and now it does seem to all be in order At least the two issues I mentioned are no longer there.

Is there something else you need me to check?

I don’t know if I should open a new thread or not, but I have the exact same issue.

After upgrading, my site looked exactly the same at first glance. All posts are still separated according to their assigned language. It was only when I wanted to include new content that I noticed I no longer had the option to include a translation or to assign a certain language to the content written.
I have now downgraded back to version 1.7.6, but here are the two main changes I’ve noticed before the downgrade:

• In the list of posts/pages, the columns with the language flags have disappeared ,[screenshot]
• When writing a new post, the screen option “languaged” is no longer available [screenshot]

Oh, wow, that was silly of me. I didn’t really understand the checkboxes and never thought it could undo my issue.

I had the same issue, but I wasn’t aware of the last step (saving the settings). Now all works as I want! Thanks!

Perhaps this little extra instruction could be included in de FAQ-answer?

All my posts have been assigned a language, I checked ^_^ . BUT, I think I figured out what went wrong.

The weird thing with typing in the text box was that I only occasionally got a dropdown with published posts. In the majority of the cases I just briefly saw the loading pictogram and then nothing.

So I tried something I probably should have done before: I deactivated all other plugins and reactivated them again one by one.
I found that when an old plugin was deactivated, I suddenly did get more comprehensive dropdowns. I then checked the plugin and saw it hasn’t been updated in a while, so maybe that is causing the issue.

In any case, now that this plugin is gone, connecting old translations is working!

When I type a couple of characters, corresponding with the first characters of the title of the existing translation post, a drop down appears, but completely unrelated to the characters typed. As far as I can see, the dropdown just lists the eight latest published posts in that language that are not yet connected to the other language.

It might be that that is the problem, as the theme on my blog does not have the option for featured images. I coded my (very basic) theme from scratch myself, but have been meaning to try and convert it to a “twentytwelve” child theme. Guess I’ll have to get cracking faster than anticipated ;).

I don’t know if I can jump in here?

My problem with the facebook publicize is not that my posts aren’t posting, but more about which image is placed next to my posts on FB. Since the last 4 posts, the displayed image has been the same: an image that is in my sidebar.

I tried the suggestion of disconnecting, but this doesn’t change the posted images (I tried a new post).

Any ideas?
