Ricard, Thank you! When I first set up GA, I created a www and a non-www in the account, because somewhere in the GA setup it says the two are considered different entities to a search engine. I ended up with two GA codes, and plugged the “non-www” code into my Ecwid cart – but I don’t remember what else I did, isn’t that terrible? It’s been so long and there’s been so much to learn my brain is a bit on the mushy side.

What I see in my GA now is that the ‘www’ version hasn’t had a single bit of data come through – it’s like it doesn’t exist. But the non-www version does. Which leaves me wondering why I even set up the www version to begin with (unless I did something wrong in the setup, which may very likely be the case).

Anyway, having the two in GA with one apparently not working at all is what had me worried about changing down the one that did work, but now after posting this I think I’d rather risk whatever is in GA than my actual site.

My hosting platform came with a ready-to-go link to GA, which I didn’t notice originally. I’m thinking it might be easier just to delete what I did directly thru GA and start over with that link, making sure the settings match up with WP as I go.

I think no matter what the general consensus is not to change my url in WP – so I am very, very glad I stopped to ask before I did that!

I added my site to GA without the www, so it’s been doing its thing that way for about 2 months. If I change the GA settings and add the www there, I’m thinking I’ll lose 2 months worth of indexing, recognition, etc. Maybe that’s not a big deal (?) but it seemed like changing the setting in WP would be more ideal than changing the one in GA. Since I’m so new at this, I felt it best to ask first! =)

Yes, I’m in the same boat as KoriMiller – could not get the fix to work, so I’m unresolved until the update comes out as well. =(

This is how the final line reads in my Theme Functions (Parent):

/* Loads the theme classes framework */
    locate_template( ‘inc/class-customizr-__.php’ ,true,true);
    tc__( ‘customizr’ );//fire the theme

I’ve added the new code immediately below it, then with a line break between that and the new code, and after putting a closing brace on this code before adding the new. No luck. Since I’m learning how to do all of this via trial and error and the last attempt crashed me out of WP completely, I’m gun-shy. Does anyone know of anything else I should check or do?

@andyblackburn if you need an embarassed smiley then I need a hurricane avatar.

Okay my child theme doesn’t give me right-column options at all. But the Customizr parent theme does. When I follow the steps (Theme Functions, paste code at bottom) nothing changes. (I have an empty line between the last line, then the extra code begins, just as I copied it above).

I tried to improvise, and add a closing brace to the original last line before adding the new stuff, and crashed my site and all access to it via WordPress – lol. Had to go into my file manager and find the Theme Functions there and FIX FIX FIX! LOL

Maybe it’s not working bc of something I did earlier messing around with the blog posts and blog page layout. I’ve been at it all day. There’s no telling! I’m dangerous! LOL

Hmmm…it didn’t work for me. But there’s a greater chance of user-error on my end than it’s just not working. I’ll wait to see if any of the others have success. =)

You can edit the Slider settings under the Customiz’It, and you can add/edit the images you put onto your slider by going into your Media Library, clicking on an image you want to use in the slider, then scrolling down a little bit until you see “Slider” options.

ReGrouPed – I think they will probably move your question off of this thread in order to keep each thread limited to the same topic, but to quickly answer your question, go to your Media Library, find the image you want to load to your slider, click it, and if you scroll down you should see “Slider Options”. That is where you can add the image to the slider.

Just wanted to say thanks for the question – I have been working with my Blog appearance for several days and have made so many tweaks I thought I had done something to the blog images to make them show up like the featured ones do. You just saved me a ton of time trying to damage-control! LOL Count me as another waiting on Nic’s reply.

Oh my word, how obvious! Sometimes it takes someone outside of the box, doesn’t it? Thank you, a million times over. I thought I was losing my mind.

Thank you for the explanation. I see the button that drops the menu down now (smack forehead). Everything you’re saying makes sense, but the widget overlap issue still puzzles me. I haven’t encountered other websites where the information on screen starts to overlap other areas and jumble up just because the screen view is smaller. I’m worried someone viewing my site with a minimized screen will do what I just did and not realize if they maximize the screen the site becomes more legible. I’m thinking they might just decide my site is jacked up and not worth trying to navigate. (!)

Updated to add: A new discovery: this problem happens when I alter the size of the pageview on my screen. When the page is in full-view mode, the menu displays just fine. I am also noticing that when the pageview is altered, my widget images spill into the main body of my page, and vice-versa.

So the problem is that the elements in my website are not adjusting proportionately when the screen size changes.

Does anyone have a fix? Thanks so much!

This one may be a cache problem – tried pulling up the site not logged in as Admin, on another browser, and the menu shows up fine. Not sure why it would disappear in Admin mode like that, though. Odd.
