I waited quite a while, but before you had a chance to check it ou, I gave in and installed contact form 7, which works fine. I wanted to avoid having another plugin, but at least this one worked straight away.

Jetpack is still my preferred plugin for contact form (and other things), and I’d like to thank developers for it! Keep up the good work!
