I’ve been running Wordfence for several months now but Google is now reporting that I’ve been hacked. I’ve looked through everything on my site and in my database but don’t see any evidence of a hack and wordfence says everything is ok. The only problem I’m having with wordfence is the scan won’t complete. I’ve changed the max execution time for each scan stage to 15 and also to 30 but it still won’t finish. It seems it doesn’t like any capital letters (my camera uses caps). This screen capture link https://prntscr.com/1vnfd3 shows the same file in lower case & upper case. I added .JPG to the allowed_mime_types but it didn’t help so I’m assuming it doesn’t like the other capitalized letters.

It works in Firefox but not in IE9

Finally figured out the problem. One thing that kept popping up on the wordpress dashboard on the user’s PC was the message “WordPress: You are using an insecure browser!”

I googled that phrase and the first thing I found was a link to this blog – https://lajak.wordpress.com/2011/08/11/wordpress-you-are-using-an-insecure-browser-using-internet-explorer-9/ which tells how to turn off compatibility mode so that message will go away.

When I turned off compatibility mode, Visual Editor immediately began working again. I turned it on and off several times and that is the fix. This post can be marked closed. Thanks for your suggestions.
