Having the same issue here.

After updating our plugins and also creating a separate ‘real’ cron, our success rate is roughly 1 in 3 (published to missed).

Is there a work around for W3?

You may have an issue with your .htaccess. Try deleting it, updating your permalinks (no change needed, just save), and see if it still does it.

One option is to disable URL monitoring. Our sites really need that feature with the amount of editors however.

Has anyone overcome the infinite redirect loop yet?

Another great tool to check out is YSlow!. It’s a browser plugin that gives you insight into the HTTPs requests and assets that make up your site. Good way to benchmark progress after you do some tweaking.

You should certainly look at what’s causing your site to be slow, but after you’ve done all you can if you still have issues consider caching plugins like W3 Total Cache or WP Varnish.

These can reduce the loading time by keeping a rendered copy of each page on your server, rather than requiring the server to produce it on each load.

I understand Yahoo is to blame for a good deal of incompatibility, however I just want to get back to speed with where I was already at.

Basically I need to fix:
blank index
can’t login via wp-admin (does display and accept usernames, just not passwords)

The slow loading is a hurdle, but one I can jump through optimizing on-site and such.

Like you suggested in another thread the wp-options was the culprit. I’m unfamiliar with what it should look like. Is there a specific part of the wp-options table I could check for problems?

The host isn’t up to me unfortunately. I work with a company who’s placed all their eggs in the Yahoo hosting basket.

What can be done to repair the tables without loosing information?

I went to back up the content of the site through phpMyAdmin and each time I’m given a 505 error.

Now when visiting the index of the site it’s showing me WordPress Installation. This would be a huge kick, as this site has been heavily worked on for several weeks. I have a backup, but it’s from a week or so ago.

What can I do to avoid losing the information built, and what caused this incredibly inconvenient and seemingly random terror?

Reading as much as I have, I’ve seen one thing that’s widely prevelant. It’s that the most of the people on these forums that are continually condescending.

I’ve asked for help in one matter which everyone has made out to be as simple as removing a line of code. I understand that a lot of the same question is posted because people don’t search/read, but I searched/read first then posted AFTER I still had problems.

I only posted a thread after reading vigorously on the forums and documentation. A lot of people faced a similar problem, but their resolutions didn’t fit for me.

As I’ve said, I’ve gone through archives, index, search and single about half a dozen times each. None of them have the code we discussed, and I’m still facing the same problem.

On each of my some-100 posts of the site it’s shown at the bottom. For what I understand, the comments box is called in on the index, archives and search pages. I have removed this portion and it still displaying No Comments yet yadda yadda.

I thank you for the suggestion about learning the Template Hierarchy. However I’m currently in a position to be permitted only learning things immediately at hand. I can understand how the Template Hierarchy is relevant, but the issue I face is removing the No Comments portion and that is all.

I appreciate your help, I’m not having any luck searching the forums.

I was suggested to by these forums, but have replaced with the original file.

Obviously my intention isn’t to step out of bounds and alter core files. I’ve since replaced the original. I just want to remove the “No comments yet. Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.”

Again I’ve removed the line from archives, index, and search. They’re still showing.

Am I missing something here?

I wasn’t aware that I double posted, if anything I commented on others’ similar issues and made my only thread.

Anyway, I stumbled across a fix. This was to replace the root directory files with the originals. My attempts were to fix the templates files.

My problem now is removing the comments box and moving it into a tab inside a post. I’ve found a few threads talking about removing the above mentioned code, but it isn’t reflecting on my site.

Hi guys,
I tried to follow the solution suggested for removing comments. I opened my archives, index and search and removed the bit as told above. Unfortunately upon doing so my site will not load. The admin panel still works, which leads me to believe something is amiss in the index. The site is https://www.cellphonetrek.com

I loaded my backup files and still see a blank page at the root of my site.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
