I put [table id=3 responsive=”tablet” /] in the shortcode a few years ago so that the table size would adjust with the size and enlargement of the page view on the screen. Is this to say that responsiveness is now an automatic WordPress feature?

Sorry, I took the screenshot, but can’t get the picture to copy here! How do I do that? Well, no matter: here is a Dropbox link:

Visitors have to scroll >horizontally< to see the entire list. (Notice the horizontal scroll bar under “A. Nonymous and others”. I don’t want this.) On the screenshot, only two of >36< entries show. What I started out with was a vertical list that showed 36 rows at once. I want that back, something closer to this (from your TablePress page):

NO ONE is going to scroll through that horizontal list. I never set it up this way; the whole list showed vertically. A setting is wrong somewhere, and I need to find it.
How do I get the whole list to show so that visitors can scroll down the web page itself and see everything?

In reply to: Update buttons on Pages grays out and won’t saveOK, I bit part of the magic bullet and here is what I know.
Two of the plug-ins would NOT deactivate: CF Posts and Revolution Slider. The Update button is still graying out.
I’m going to guess that this is the fault of the Slider, because it wouldn’t install every time I tried. It took the magic of a tech person with my web host to get it to install. Worse, it’s claimed to be a required plug-in. I have no idea what it does, but it doesn’t seem very revolutionary right now.
Fwiw, the Slider was installed a couple weeks ago, and the Update situation has been bad ever since.
I clicked on Inspect Element (I opened WP in MS Edge rather than Chrome), searched “disabled” and found this:
“Saving has been disabled until you’re reconnected.”
Reconnected?! I’m still online and nothing has disconnected. The content field on the screen stopped being split in half, so that’s a good thing, BUT now at the bottom of that field I see “Saving draft…last edited by me at [time].” This must be related to the Update button.
Next is to use to the Default Theme, but I cannot find it. I went to Appearance>Themes and it shows Energy, Twenty Fourteen, Twenty Fifteen, and Twenty Sixteen. Nothing says Default. More how-to is needed.
In the meantime, I will reactivate the plug-ins and see which one was splitting the content screen.

In reply to: Update buttons on Pages grays out and won’t saveAlso, what about the code lines I asked about?

In reply to: Update buttons on Pages grays out and won’t saveI’m admittedly a little scared to do so. The plug-ins I think I can manage, but I don’t know how to switch to the default theme, which sounds scary.
And should I find a plug-in at fault, what’s next?
Thank you.

In reply to: Need to remove a link on my main menu barThank you, Steve for the URL. I just wrote to them and sent the URL to this discussion so they can see, in addition to making my expectations clear. This, I believe, should all be so much easier.

In reply to: Need to remove a link on my main menu barI’m afraid I have already done that, and the page title is still in the main menu bar on every page when I visit the site. I was careful to save the Menu changes, and in fact did a Search there: the page title is gone from Appearances>Menus but is still showing when I visit the site.
Should I delete the page from the Trash?
And has there been something inherently wrong with the Energy theme from the get-go? None of this should be difficult: I can’t get Drafts or Private pages to stay off the site, and now a trashed page still has a link on the main menu! These page options should all just WORK, shouldn’t they?

In reply to: Can't reach a photo at the bottom of a page to delete itYES, that was it! I went to the Portfolios plug-in, and sure enough, there was the photo! Deleted it, and it’s gone.
Now, if I could just figure out How the Portfolios plug-in actually works…..
Thanks so much!

In reply to: Can't reach a photo at the bottom of a page to delete itYes, my theme has a portfolio plug-in, but I can’t make out how to use it. The instructions are not clear. I tried to figure this out a long time ago, and perhaps that one photo landed in a portfolio? You could be right about this, but I don’t know what to do! I don’t understand the portfolio concept.
What I did on the page with the other photos was set up columns using the formatting tools and then placing the photos where indicated.
Hope you can help. Thank you.

In reply to: Draft pages still publicI am seeing the same thing. AND there is a similar issue with “Private” pages. They are showing on my site. Perhaps these are related?
In the html, I found a <i> with no </i> to close it. Case closed; wish I could simply delete this thread.
