Absolutely certain all of the information in the congig.php file is accurate. I’m going to call web.com again shortly to see if I can get this situated. Do you think creating a new database and user is worth a shot?

Hey Dave, I did try that. After trying a few of the things above, I’ve gotten a couple of different errors. One being a 404, the other saying this (which is what I originally got) — “Error establishing a database connection. This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.”

Did that and got “Sorry, I need a wp-config-sample.php file to work from. Please re-upload this file from your WordPress installation.”

No I just looked through my root folder in the FTP. The only wp-config.php file is the one I JUST recreated from the sample file.

Thank you very much for your help. That seemed to work to get me to the next part, but then I receive another error that says “The file ‘wp-config.php’ already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration items in this file, please delete it first. You may try installing now.”

Do I need to go back and delete the sample file?
