In reply to: [XML Sitemap Generator for Google] Upgrading to 4.1.15 Causes Sitemap 404The Issue was reported.
@Auctollo thx for your fast reaction. <3
After updating to the new version (4.1.16), the problem with the 404 page not found errors persists. After calling up domain.com/sitemap.xml, for example, post-sitemap.xml or page-sitemap.xml leads to the 404 error.
Glad I could help. If you can also mark the support request as resolved. Thanks.
Done!
@saurabhdhariwal01 WOW, thx for the fast support.
i found 2 blank lines in the functions.php of the Theme, afer the “?>” – Tag. Now Sitemap works! ??@wpsmort
Thank you, I have inserted the filter (functions) and after a refresh the emoticons can be inserted again.Nice Support! ??
Hi @wpsmort,
I find your response and work great, thank you for that!
Can you confirm everything works fine with the Block Editor?
I work almost exclusively with the ClassicEditor, so I can’t say that much about the BlockEditor. As soon as I notice bugs, I will report them here. I would be happy if the fix for the ClassicEditor appears in an update.
Thanks for the support and have a nice weekend.
Best regards
Hi @wpsmort,
I use the Classic Editor, so the error can also be reproduced well. As soon as the plugin “Classic Editor” is active, there is the problem described above.
I tested this on a new site with the default WordPress theme and the latest version of All in One SEO and it worked fine for me as seen here – https://a.supportally.com/nTG7xP
I’ve tested with Chrome, Safari and FF. I’m on a Mac so I don’t have Edge.
– Activate the Classic Editor once here, then the error occurs.
Best regards

If you deactivate the “Classic Editor” plugin, the icons and characters can be inserted again. As you can see in the screenshot.
The original thread was based on an activated “Classic Editor” plugin. Is there maybe a possibility for this combination. The “Classic Editor” plugin is very common, it would be nice to find a fix or workaround for the Classic Editor here as well?
I hope you guys can get further with the information. Very good support, thanks for that.

If you have a test installation with the latest update (Updated from 4.2.2 to version 4.2.3.1), it is very easy to reproduce.
When navigating to a post and trying to edit it, emoticons and icons can no longer be inserted under AIOSEO Settings. Examples: ? ? ??
Icons can no longer be inserted in the Title and Meta Descriptions fields. This was different before the last updates, so you could enhance your meta description with icons, for example.
Unfortunately the problem persists, additionally in the current Edge you now see a broken image icon in front of each icon. In the screen shot you can now see the output after an update. Emoji Icons – Not possible to copy in AioSeo page settings
Best regards

Thanks for the information. I applied the latest update to two projects today and cleared the cache.
Unfortunately the problem persists, additionally in the current Edge you now see a broken image icon in front of each icon.
Copying emoticons to the title or meta does not work yet unfortunately.

. I’ve developed a fix for it that will be included in our next release, 4.2.3, which will be released somewhere next month.
Thanks for the good support and the fast implementation. I will be happy to give feedback after the next update.
Thanks a lot!
I have the same problem. After the update to version 4.2.2 the copying of icons & unicodes in the meta description is no longer possible.
Using the example of an article, it is no longer possible to copy icons in the meta description under AIOSEO Settings. For example, you can no longer copy this check icon into the field ??
I imagine a lot of people use this feature to spruce up their metas.
