In reply to: I cant install (ZobyHost – Free hosting)Hi! When I visit https://vitralpsicoanalitico.totalh.com/ I can see a listing of all of your files. It does look like some files are missing, such as index.php
I also notice that you have other non WordPress files mixed in, such as this:
https://vitralpsicoanalitico.totalh.com/admin.phpMy recommendation, and as esmi said you may want to contact your host, is to delete all the files you see at https://vitralpsicoanalitico.totalh.com and attempt your WordPress installation again.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have further questions.

In reply to: Getting WordPress working with 1and1 (via FileZilla)Hi platmack, sorry for the delay.
Where do you want your WordPress site found, for example:
https://www.thecosybag.net/
https://www.thecosybag.net/home
https://www.thecosybag.net/blogIf you want your WordPress site found simply at:
https://www.thecosybag.net/
You’ll need to move all of the files that are in that home directory one directory up.I’m not familiar with 1and1, but that traffic.html file may be something they automatically generate for you so you can see your site stats.
Also, to confirm, everything was working correctly until you published your first post? For example, you were able to go through the WordPress installation procedure, etc?
I am using a mySQL data base provided by 1and1 and connected to it via FileZilla.
MySQL files are generally found on a separate part of the server, and not in your website’s normal directory. Were you by chance uploading a backup file, such as a “.sql” file?
Also, is this a new WordPress installation or are you migrating a WordPress site from another server?

In reply to: Dashboard Sidebar Has DissappearedHi coffeeking. Did the suggestions offered by esmi help? If not, I would include that you check any error logs on the server (ask your hosting provider for help), as there may be some error messages that give us clues as to what else may be going on.

In reply to: Windows Server 2003Hi ScottNewMilford. I’ve install WordPress many times on Linux servers, and it is very easy. I installed WordPress on a Windows server once, and it was a huge headache. Follow Samuel’s advice and make sure the server meets the necessary requirements.
I first recommend checking and ensuing the server is setup with PHP. The install I helped with was on a windows server that did not have php setup, and that was the first hassle.
After php is setup, you’re basically in the clear. WordPress is very easy to install.
Let us know if you have any further questions, good luck!

In reply to: I don't have a clue what I am doingHi AdrenalineGirlUK,
I would agree that get reading over the basic documentation as esmi described will give you a good starting point. If you’re having trouble with getting WordPress installed, you may want to contact your host so they can doublecheck all of your DNS / nameserver settings to ensure your domain is pointing to their servers. They should also have the documentation available for installing WordPress onto their servers.
Why when I click on the URL with the domain I supplied does it not work?
Are you referring to adrenalinegirl.co.uk ? I just tested it and it looks like its working.
Does the installation install software onto the hard drive or is it all online? Can you edit it offline?
WordPress is installed on your hosting account, not your hard drive. You will need to be online and logged into your WordPress’ Admin section in order to make any changes.

In reply to: wp-config.php problemHi nailoon. Generally, permissions related issues are best answered by your host because they can actually see your file permissions and ownership settings.
– Do you know if your server is running suPHP?
– Have you been able to install anything on your host using Softaculous successfully in the past?

In reply to: Getting WordPress working with 1and1 (via FileZilla)Hi Dominic. I’m not quite sure of the issue you’re having, can you give us more detail? For example, can you supply the steps we can take to replicate the problem? What logs are you seeing exactly?

In reply to: Installed new theme, now everything blankHi therobotanist, I’m curious to see what actually is happening. For example, if the page is blank, is there anything when you view the source? Most likely you have php’s error reporting set to off, so when there is an error, it is not show and instead you are simply given a blank page. Enable php’s error reporting (from within your php.ini) should show you more details if there is an actual error.

In reply to: WordPress wp-config.phpHi fanaticjim, wp-config-sample.php is used by the wp-config.php create script during initial installation. If you already have a wp-config.php file and your site is working, technically you could delete the wp-config-sample.php file.

In reply to: error on wp-login (completed troubleshooting list)Hi scp, sorry for the delay.
I get 404 errors at both:
https://www.sheridancapitalpartners.com/wordpress
https://www.sheridancapitalpartners.com/wordpress/wp-login.phpHave you made any changes / did you get this resolved?
I can see that https://www.sheridancapitalpartners.com redirects to https://www.sheridancapitalpartners.com/wp/, and https://www.sheridancapitalpartners.com/wp/wp-login.php is loading correctly.

In reply to: subpage conditional statemement not workingCongrats trixienolix on fixing that!
I’m not too familiar with wp_query, but the following page shows many other parameters that you can use with wp_query besides the_post:

In reply to: subpage conditional statemement not workingIs “Nuclear” suppose to be a category or a page?
If you’re on “Nuclear”, to confirm, the goal is to display links to 2 sub pages (or posts)?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: subpage conditional statemement not workingI don’t understand why you’re running a loop. Are you instead referring to the conditional statements (if / then) ?
Also, are you editing sidebar.php ?
