If you wanna save some money and do things manually until Newsletter numbers increase to an unmanagable amount why not set up a simple CGI-script and simple form which will collect email addresses and email them to you as a standard email. A script based on Matt Wright’s formmail script will also send back a “automated” email to the signee confirming their sign-up.
