The issue is resolved. There was an animation setting which was corrupt and causing the conflict. The animation setting was recreated and the page performs as expected.

I have the same problem. I have checked for plugin conflicts, disabled and cleared cache and been in contact with theme support – https://theme.co/forum/t/empty-alert-bar-showing-below-contact-form-button/76669

It appears that the class wpcf7-display-none is missing when the page renders. I have noticed this issue only in the past few days and it is on all forms on all my websites. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it?

    Hi Joost,

A follow-up – I have tested the issue on several websites I own. It seems that the security plugin iThemes Security is the cause of the problem. It looks like one of the features of 14.0 involved a database update and indexing. On some of the websites using iThemes Security, the table/column creation was failing. This was due to a setting in iThemes Security. Deactivating iThemes Security and reinstalling Yoast resolved the issue for me.

I would suggest deactivating security plugins briefly to install this version of Yoast, if it does not install correctly.

I hope this helps someone else with the issue.

    Thanks,
    Christopher

    Thanks Neil,

I found the problem shortly before your response – after hours of searching!

For anyone else in the smae situation, check your caching plugin. My issue was caused by two settings needed to be turned OFF:

    1. Load Javascript deferred
    2. Javascript combine

I hope this helps others. It took quite a bit of finding and double-checking.

    Thnaks,
    Christopher

    Hi Hal,

Sorry for such a late reply – been away.

Your suggestion has not resolved the problem. I have recently installed the plugin on a different website and am getting the same issue.

Having tried to find the problem, I have tested a bit further. Flagging a testimonial as either a 2 star or a 3 star rating outputs 2 stars in both cases on the frontend display. A 4 star review shows with 3 stars and a 5 star testimonial displays 4 stars.

I think there is something in the “counting” code which is causing the issue.

I hope this helps you work out the problem.

    Thanks,
    Chris
