In reply to: Backup & RestoreGreat thanks– can’t log into my back end now, but that’s another issue… Blindingly obvious I suppose.

In reply to: backup restoreOk, bit more on this.
The file that I mention above is 39MB in size and has the error issue.
I have another backup file from a few days previous, around 1.9MB. This uploads fine and content seems to be in all the tables. Except that when I go to Wp-admin, nothing is there at all.
Am I missing something?

In reply to: Fatal Error: Out of Memory – Usual tricks not workingAlso couldn’t get upgrade to 2.7 working so have exported xml file (203MB) and think that I’ll start with a vanilla installation on 2.7
Is the size of the xml output file significant in the memory issues?

In reply to: WP Link Directory Description Problemjust looked at the link directory again – it is this version that is also causing the earlier problem that i had with the visual control panel in write.
Look for another link directory then?

In reply to: Plugin Memory ErrorFor the benefit of others with this problem
I solved this myself. Created a php.ini file in public_htlml and changed memory limit to 64MB from original 32MB setup in master on server.
Then to apply the fix, made a copy of php.ini wp-plugins directory. It seems that the ini file must exist wherever php files do.
Bingo. It works.

In reply to: HELP – IT’s ALL GONEThink i’ve probably blown it unless better ideas around
Gotta go to bed as 3am here now.
can probably recover much of it as have some content out on article sites, have googles cache for a day or 2 and have content from xml export from original wp.com. which closed down will just lose some news items and a couple of good articles.
will lose a bit but not terminal.
got to rebuild the buggar though! and will probably confuse the hell out of google (as if it wasn’t confused enough already by the redirect!)
