I’ve photographed performances for a number of different theatrical and musical theatrical groups. They have some specific requirements around such things as naming performers in shots, who the producers are, etc. which they want included in releases. I could specify this in the text of the gallery page, but would also like to include it in the downloads for orders, so we can be sure that at least purchasers have been sent a copy. Now that I’m in my Golden Years I don’t anticipate I’ll be doing a lot of this, but it could still happen on occasion and I thought others who do similar work might find it useful as well.

In reply to: Hyper slow loading after update to 5.0I am having the same problem here, and can confirm that DIVI appears to have been the culprit as things sped right up once I switched to the most recent WP resident theme. Interestingly, once I switched BACK to DIVI, it was still pretty perky. I’m wondering if that could be a result of cacheing.
For me, it’s resolved. Don’t know about the other person.
Thanks again,
ChrisHey Dan – thanks for this! WORKS LIKE A CHARM! I tried it in Firefox and Chrome and it retains the CP settings in both. I appreciate all the work you folks did on this.
Cheers
ChrisI did, sorry, responded to the email I received with your message via email rather than the forum. If I turn off Canada Post the remaining options work fine. If I turn it back on, the problem resumes. And, in fact the Canada Post shipping option doesn’t show even if it’s turned on. I’m wondering if this may be a cache issue, since I have cacheing turned on in Siteground.
Sure, here you go – https://www.chrishutcheson.com/gallerystore/
There’s only one product and you can only “buy” one of them. I tried this with one of the stock themes that comes with WordPress with the same result.
Thanks!I’m having the same issue here, most current releases of everything including WP and the DIVI theme. I have disabled all plugins, changed themes and the problem continues – Canada Post (all options) and local pickup in this case are the selections. I select a different option from the top one in the list, the wheel spins, page refreshes and we’re back to the top one. I’m on Siteground hosting, using Cloudflare CDN and Siteground’s Supercacher service as well as running a cron through them rather than WP’s internal one.

Just to add to this, I was able to delete the plugin by deactivating all other plugins and then deactivating and deleting wp-disable. This, however, did NOT delete the Optimisation.io heading in the admin menu, and clicking on it still brings up the control panel screen for the plugin. What gives? How do I get rid of this? Not very happy with your plugin right now.
I am unable to remove the plugin. I deactivate it and the click on delete and it hangs while displaying “deleting…”
If I simply remove the plugin from the directory, this does not delete the optimization.io heading in the left column of the admin screen

In reply to: [Offers for WooCommerce] Getting "there was an error sending your offer"Note that the plugin I’ve removed is All in One, not the offers one. And, as I mentioned, it worked fine in Safari (Mac) but not Firefox or Chrome.

In reply to: [Offers for WooCommerce] Getting "there was an error sending your offer"Hi there.
I didn’t check the logs, and have removed the plugin as it was creating problems with some other site functions as well. I was surprised, because All in One works fine with other WP sites here, and am wondering if it may have been a combination of factors and not just All in One. This particular site – blog.chrishutcheson.com – uses the DIVI theme from Elegant Themes, and it’s a bit of a handful itself. The problem recurred with basic WP themes as well.
I’ve since removed a number of other inactive plugins and will try reinstalling All in One to see if I can duplicate the problem. I’ll keep you posted.
Cheers

In reply to: [Offers for WooCommerce] Getting "there was an error sending your offer"Sorry to jump in on this somewhat late, but I was having the same issue in Firefox (Mac) and Chrome (Mac) but not Safari. Turned off All In One WP Security and it worked, so there’s something in there, I’m assuming. Current versions of everything on the WP and browser side, BTW…
Thanks for your help. They’ll still be able to notified automatically, am I right?

In reply to: The WP Media Manager is Absolutely TerribleI’m generally OK with the file management capabilities of the media manager – at least as far as the way they work to show what images you have in a particular page or article. A lot of it also has to do with the way one organizes file naming when setting up image to upload – that helps with the search function. The thing that I find annoying, though, is that the image fields don’t map well as far as metadata is concerned from programs such as Lightroom – metadata for caption in that program ends up in Description in WordPress, which, of course, is useless as far as captioning large quantities of images – which, for my portfolio site, I need to have. I’ve installed plugins that others have mentioned that do this, but really, this kind of thing should, IMHO, conform to the standards out there for metadata processing. Particularly since these plugins seem to work well within WordPress itself, but not so well when using the image manager with particular tools and thems – the Studiofolio theme comes to mind as it’s the one I’m working with here at the moment. Core functionality rather than some extension might resolve these kinds of incompatibilities, as I can’t really expect plugins and theme developers to necessarily build tools that work with each other. I’d like to think though, that if the functionality was built into WordPress itself, it’d be more likely to work in themes, etc.
Cheers

In reply to: [All-In-One Security (AIOS) – Security and Firewall] Password protected pagesI can do that – sorry for the delay getting back – but currently have a protected page up for a client and would be reluctant to make it inaccessible to them – I just activated brute force again, with the password protected option selected and get the following message when attempting to access a page….”No input file specified. ”
