i also have a similar problem as above but i using mysqli_fetch_assoc give an error when i using $wpdb.

it happen to me before, but after i trouble shoot i found that it because of my last post, wrong HTML nested. I think your problem due to this.

go post->edit, after that you can view post list.
At post list, you mouse over to the published title. You can get extra menu bottom of the title. Now you can select edit, quick edit, delete or view. This only work on wordpress 2.7. Hope you can find it.

i’m curious about to install second wordpress. if i install new worpress but different folder, could the second wordpress work or conflict with old one?
