Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Tried to change domain name, now I can’t access the login pageI finally got FTP access to the site and I found out the issue with a tip that I read that suggested renaming each plugin folder one by one until I could find out what was causing it. It turns out it was a plug-in called “SF Move Login” that prevents brute force attacks by making /wp-login.php unaccessible and using /login instead. When I changed the site domain name, it looks like it broke the plugin so I couldn’t log in. I got around it by renaming the sf_move_login folder under “plugins” and that disabled the plugin. I just wanted to put there here in case someone else runs into this issue to help them out.

In reply to: Tried to change domain name, now I can’t access the login pageDoes anyone have any ideas? I just changed the URL and didn’t expect it to make the login page unavailable, and I can’t change it back without being able to login. Where are those site URLs located (I changed the “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)” under settings)? Are they in a file or database table? If I can access those, perhaps I can manually change it to get access back?

In reply to: Tried to change domain name, now I can’t access the login page@t-p I haven’t started the move yet, but I wasn’t planning on doing it using the method that you linked. I was just going to use a migration tool. I was wondering if the URL fields under the WordPress settings are stored in the database, or are they stored in a file? I’m wondering if I could go in and possibly undo what I did manually just to get the site login page working so I can move the site first to my host, then change the domain name. That way if I run into issues like this, I will have a LOT more access to fix it.
@rosehosting I don’t know if I have shell access. My level of knowledge doesn’t go that high, and since it is someone else hosting the site (they just gave us WordPress login accounts), I’m guessing not.
