I see you got no response. I have been having the same thing happening. It’s very odd. They seem phony and some kind of seo-scam but I don’t know what it is. I did a google search and your question came up. I guess more searching is in order unless you figured it out.

It would seem to be a situation that comes up often enough (since they give the option of moving from wp.com to wp.org) but I did not see any info on it (not in FAQ’s).

hi esmi, Okay so I reupladed new copies of twenty eleven and one other previous theme – those two work fine. Thanks for that advice. But I am still getting the ‘cheatin’ uh?’ message with Thesis and that’s the theme I’m trying to work with. The others work fine and I can use as my theme with no problems. Not sure what else to try or why this would happen, if I did something wrong or what …?

Hi esmi, thanks. Do I just upload another Twenty ten (or eleven) theme folder via filezilla over the other one? Do I have to get ‘rid’ of the one that’s there (not sure if that’s possible) or I just add another set of theme files and it will ‘self correct’?

All the other themes are gone. Now I just have thesis and twenty ten. (previously I had more than seven others.)

For Thesis, they tell you to change custom-sample to just custom and then go into that folder and right click cache then file permissions and change numeric value to 775. then also in layout.css to change file permissions numeric value to 666.

Hi. Thanks for your response. I did go through endless free themes before realizing I was not getting the support I needed when I had questions and needing more functionality. That’s why I decided to pay for a theme understanding there were still no guarantees. I found this list of the commercial theme vendors after I had already purchased this theme but will refer to it in the future.

Well, that’s where I was automatically directed … Believe me, I have to written via every form of ‘ways to connect’ to find out what’s up. I still don’t really understand the Ace component (thanks for the link and now I know it is a compression format) vs. .zip.

I purchased it via Theme Forest which I thought was fairly reputable and it was either there or via envato (they are somehow connected) that an automated response suggested I try Winace.

Congratulations on your site being done. Looking good! I like the vibe, the attitude of it all. You have a nice way of writing too.

It’s funny I played with Magazine Basic as a theme but then I had a few questions (yes, really!) and I couldn’t get them resolved. I really probably need to pay for a theme and get more extensive support. I can’t learn everything myself. ??

So although I resolved getting all those posts imported finally – yay!- my site is not up yet in wp.org due to theme issues. I’ve spent I can’t even tell you how many hours working on this.

Anyway, hopefully next time I write it will be to say, the site is up, come take a look!

p.s. I’m sure Mattie will find you if she needs to, blocked calls and all. ??

Hi Samuel, I decided to switch the theme back and tho’ cumbersome manually set the featured images where they mysteriously had not been added with the PlugIn (as I mentioned before). I thought I would deactivate and then reactivate hoping perhaps it would ‘take.’ Now none of them have the featured image set. Is there anything else I might need to do having switched themes? (They were there initially before I deactivate and reactivated.) Should I reinstall? Thanks.

I actually changed to a theme that doesn’t have featured images. I’m sure there would be an explanation for what was happening – or not happening – but the post was in the media library and attached to the post as far as I could see and a bunch weren’t showing up. Some were, some weren’t. If I had time to go through all 800 posts than it wouldn’t be an issue but I just didn’t. So I had to ‘give up’ on it for now. I may readdress in the future. Thank you for your help. Your PlugIn seems great …

Okay, I discovered that you are given the option of choosing posts and pages by by date – yay! One thing I’m not clear on is what is exporting of “feedbacks.” I did it but I wasn’t sure what it was. Thanks.
