This seems to have fixed the layout issue – thank you.

However, the subscription widget no longer works. I enter the email address and click ‘subscribe’ – a small dot appears in the subscribe button, but nothing happens.

If I also try to click subscribe without entering any details, the same thing (nothing) happens. I would expect an error message or prompt to enter details.

Thanks for your reply, I have emailed screenshots which show the problem. The WordPress version is 4.5.3 and I’m using Chrome browser v51

I also had this message. I had recently upgraded to WordPress 4.3 and it completed successfully. When I googled the message I found nothing at all – this forum post appeared after. I checked for a .maintenance file in by site, but it was not there. The front end of my site was working fine, this message came only when I tried to log in to admin.

I’m sorry that I don’t have a better answer for you except that after about an hour, the issue went away without me doing anything. However I’d be interested in any insight into what this is. I checked with my theme developer and he confirmed it’s not a theme message.

I notice you are a UK member and I’m also in UK so wonder if it could possibly have been a hosting issue? My site is with TSO Host.

I found this post after searching for exactly the same problem. In the password reset email, there is no link to click. However, I found this workaround which may help someone – if you click to reply to the email, you can then see the link text that was supposed to be there. Then copy it and paste to your browser.

Anyone know if there is a fix to this problem? I’m not an expert but it looks like wp-login.php is not forming the link properly.
