I’m not to sure how easy it will be to get the two to work together.

Unfortunately you can’t just change the background.

You’ll need to make a copy of your theme for each new colour and change the background in that theme’s style.

Forwarding will not work.

When you create your subdomain and it asks for the document root of your website you need to set it to the same document root as the main wordpress install (e.g ~/public_html/).

If your subdomain creation doesn’t ask for a document root then you should ask your technical support.

If you forward all that does it take the page and forward you to the same page on the target address. Which is exactly what it seems to be doing.

Version 0.6.9 is released and this time the wordpress plugin page updated correctly to show it. Not sure what went wrong with 0.6.8

Shaliza I had a look at your site. One thing I noticed was that going to your subdomain redirects to the main site. Not sure what’s going on there. Are you using any other plugins? What hosting management software do you use (cpanel, plesk, etc)?

From version 0.6.8 it should now work with WPMU.

I must say I’ve not tested it myself, but the patch was provided by a guy who created this site with it:

I hope to do some proper WPMU testing once I’ve got through all the issues with normal WordPress ??

It’s still on my todo list to provide a sitemap filter.

Sorry I’ve been off the project for a number of months but am back on it now.

If you’re still having issues it’s in the Edit Category section. you should see some extra options. One is a custom theme.

What theme are you using?

I found some themes are written in a way that the index page gets all posts rather than using the query loop.

Hi all,

thank you dukessa for contacting me and pointing out this thread.

I found out yesterday that wordpress subdomains isn’t compatible wordpress 2.9.

I wont go into the reasons but unfortunately i’ve not had any time to work on this project in the last few months.

Currently there is a dev version in the svn trunk with a lot of bug fixes that I’ve been trying to find the time to test and release for a while.

I don’t want to leave the users high and dry so i am going to do my best to sort out the wp 2.9 issues over my Christmas break.

If anyone finds a fix for this before I release one please let me know so i can put it into a proper release.

From the readme:

If using Subdomains you’ll probably want your cookie to span the subdomains and not just your own domain. In order to achieve this you need to add an option to your wp-config.php:

define('COOKIE_DOMAIN', '.mydomain.com');

Where mydomain.com is your domain name. Remember to add the preceeding dot (.) as this is what makes it work.

Please note, after setting this you’ll probably need to delete any cookies your browser has for your domain.
