The above files aren’t core WordPress file and are likely malwares. You can delete them through your file browser or WordFence.

actually they are they original core wordpress files (.orig stands for original). These files are from a WordPress APS package used when you install WordPress via a management system like Plesk on a server rather than by installing manually. pretty harmless but also not needed to run the site after upload.

it was the private notes to customer that you could add when looking at the customers full order in the order dashboard.
i ended up changing the subject and email heading in the “notes to customer” email settings so it wasnt using the default settings and they started getting received again. im thinking perhaps a spam filter was blocking out the emails with the default settings

i should add i use the notes to send the tracking numbers out, so it is an important feature for me

actually solved it this morning. it was a plugin causing the issues (an add-on to a plugin in fact). i had an age gate on the registration process, which also included a gate at checkout, which would for some reason auto complete all orders when activated. i thought i had tried it without the plugin before making the post, but guess not.

i am using Shop Isle Pro theme and have checked the functions.php and it does not contain that code or any code that refers to auto-complete.
