So, do I still have to specify keywords, excerpts etc? Or does the plug in handle this?

Gotcha. I see one can create a gallery using the classic editor which generates the necessary shortcode with IDs, then just add in the desired layout style and bingo. Thanks.

Here’s the weird thing.

The original post that these things are linked to was published months after they were published.

How is that even possible . . . when it didn’t exist.

At the moment I’m deleting links from posts dated October 2020.

I hear what you are saying, but I went back over the past couple of days and rolled back any updates.
When I rolled back MG the problem went away. Then I re-updated the other plugins and the problem has not re-appeared.
Not sure what MG doesn’t like but I’ll keep you posted.

Any ideas?

As a follow-up to this question.
Before I found the setting to break the link to an original post, I have inadvertently created many published posts with links to original items — sometimes the same item if I used it as a template when creating a new draft.
Is there a way of bulk deleting these links or do I have to do it post by post as I have been doing using the WP Quick Edit menu?

I have the same problem more or less.
Check to see whether the images are still in the content folder.
I found a whole lot of images that had not been deleted after upload.
The posts/pages still draw okay, even though the image urls point to images that are no longer there.
Try tracking down an old image that has gone missing, however — the dates are all over the place.

Default widget worked, but does not work on the live site.

This might be a silly question and it is not something I have really thought about before, but do I actually have archives?
I don’t uses pages, I use categories to organise my content?

Tried default theme, didn’t work either. I see someone had the same problem 4 years ago. It’s a shame because I like the look of this widget.
